RRC NCR GDCE Educational Qualification
The required qualification varies according to the post.
- Assistant Loco Pilot: Matriculation/SSLC plus prescribed ITI/Act Apprenticeship or the prescribed Diploma/Degree in Engineering.
- Technician: The prescribed qualification includes Matriculation/SSLC with relevant ITI or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship, as applicable to the post.
- Junior Engineer: The prescribed qualification includes a three-year Diploma/Degree in the relevant engineering discipline, as specified for the respective post.
- Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with the prescribed marks requirement, subject to the relaxations specified in the notification.
- Junior Clerk Cum Typist: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with the prescribed marks requirement. Typing proficiency on computer is essential.
Educational and technical qualifications must be from recognized institutions and must be possessed by the closing date of online application. The qualification must also be endorsed in the employee's Service Record where prescribed.

RRC NCR GDCE Eligibility
The recruitment is open to eligible and serving regular employees having lien in North Central Railway, except RPF/RPSF personnel. No minimum service condition is prescribed as per the notification.
Candidates who have resigned or have been transferred from North Central Railway during the selection process will not be eligible for the recruitment.
Employees working in a higher grade than the notified post, trainee/substitute employees who are not regularized, and candidates who do not possess the prescribed educational qualification, medical standard and age criteria are not eligible.
Candidates are also not permitted to apply for the same post on which they are presently working.
RRC NCR GDCE Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages, as applicable to the post:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for Assistant Loco Pilot
- Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) for Junior Clerk Cum Typist
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
Selection is made strictly on merit based on the applicable selection stages. For ALP, CBT is followed by CBAT, Document Verification and Medical Examination. For Technician, JE and Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, the applicable process includes CBT, Document Verification and Medical Examination. Junior Clerk Cum Typist involves CBT, CBTST, Document Verification and Medical Examination.
RRC NCR GDCE Exam Pattern
The notification provides a single-stage CBT/TBT for each relevant category or group of posts. The syllabus is generally based on the RRB Direct Recruitment pattern, with a separate revised examination pattern for ALP.
There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every wrong answer in the CBT. There is no negative marking in the Computer Based Aptitude Test for ALP.
