The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the RBI Assistant Mains Result 2026 for candidates who appeared in the Main Examination conducted on 7 June 2026. The result was declared on 24 September 2026 under the recruitment for the post of Assistant – Panel Year 2025.
RBI is filling 650 Assistant vacancies through this recruitment. RBI Assistant Mains Result 2026 Declared
The RBI Assistant Main Examination was conducted on 7 June 2026 for candidates who had qualified the Preliminary Examination. RBI has now announced the Mains result and published the roll numbers of candidates provisionally shortlisted for the next stage of recruitment.
Candidates should check the official RBI result carefully and search for their roll number to know whether they have been shortlisted. Qualification in the Main Examination does not by itself amount to final appointment, as shortlisted candidates must complete the remaining selection requirements prescribed by RBI.

What Happens After RBI Assistant Mains Result?
Candidates provisionally shortlisted from the Main Examination are required to appear for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). RBI has specified that the LPT is compulsory and no exemption will be granted from appearing in the test.
The Language Proficiency Test will be conducted in the official or local language of the state concerned. Candidates applying for an RBI recruiting office must be able to read, write, speak and understand the applicable language. A candidate who is not proficient in the required official or local language will be disqualified.
The respective RBI office will intimate shortlisted candidates about the LPT centre and related schedule.
RBI Assistant Language Proficiency Test 2026
The LPT is the final testing stage after the Preliminary and Main examinations. Candidates shortlisted sufficiently high in merit based on their aggregate Main Examination marks are called for the test.
- The Language Proficiency Test is mandatory.
- It is conducted in the official or local language applicable to the recruiting office.
- Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and understand the required language.
- No exemption from the LPT is permitted.

Documents Required at LPT and Verification Stage
RBI requires candidates to produce documents supporting their eligibility and claims during the Language Proficiency Test and document verification stage. Candidates shortlisted in the Mains result should therefore keep their relevant original certificates and supporting documents ready.
Documents relating to age, educational qualification, category and other applicable eligibility claims will be verified by the Bank. Candidates claiming reservation benefits must submit the required certificates in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority.
Candidates appearing for the LPT are also required to carry the prescribed call letter along with an acceptable original photo identity proof and its photocopy, as instructed by RBI.
RBI Assistant Selection Process 2026
The selection process for RBI Assistant consists of the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. Candidates sufficiently high in merit in the Main Examination are shortlisted for the LPT.
