State Bank of India (SBI) has released the notification for recruitment of Specialist Cadre Officers on Regular Basis for the posts of Manager (Security) and Deputy Manager (Security). A total of 60 vacancies are available under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/28.

For the Manager (Security) position, candidates must meet either of the following service conditions:

• An officer not below the rank of Major in the Indian Army or equivalent rank in the Indian Navy/Air Force with a minimum of 10 years of commissioned service; or
• An officer not below the rank of Deputy Commandant in Para-military forces with a minimum of 10 years of service as an officer.

Experience for Deputy Manager (Security)

For the Deputy Manager (Security) position, candidates must meet either of the following service conditions:

• An officer not below the rank of Captain in the Indian Army or equivalent rank in the Indian Navy/Air Force with a minimum of 5 years of commissioned service; or
• An officer not below the rank of Assistant Commandant in Para-military forces with a minimum of 5 years of service as an officer.

The prescribed qualification and relevant full-time experience must be possessed on the specified eligibility date.

SBI Security Officer Age Limit 2026

The age limit for the Security Officer recruitment is 25 to 40 years as on 31 October 2026.

The maximum age shown in the notification applies to the Unreserved category. Applicable relaxation in the upper age limit is available to eligible reserved-category candidates according to Government of India guidelines. Candidates claiming age relaxation must submit the required certificates when called for interview.

Medical Fitness for SBI Security Officer Recruitment

Only applicants possessing medical fitness in SHAPE-1 or an equivalent medical category as on the date of release of the advertisement are eligible to apply.

SBI Security Officer Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of an Online Written Examination followed by an Interview.

Online Written Examination

Reasoning Ability, English Language and General Awareness are qualifying in nature, and their marks will not be considered for determining the merit. Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the Bank in these papers.

The Professional Knowledge paper carries 100 marks and is used for merit. There is no penalty for wrong answers in the objective tests.

Interview

Candidates qualifying in the online test may be called for an interview in a category-wise manner, depending on the number of vacancies and the Bank's requirements.

The interview carries 100 marks. The qualifying marks for the interview will be decided by SBI.

Final Merit

The marks obtained in the Professional Knowledge test and Interview are normalized to a total of 100 marks:

The category-wise merit list will be prepared in descending order based on the normalized score. If candidates have the same cut-off marks, the candidate who is older will be ranked higher.
