Canara Bank Apprentice Vacancy 2026
Canara Bank has announced 3500 Graduate Apprentice training seats. The seats are distributed across States/UTs and include reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and UR categories, along with horizontal reservation for PwBD categories. Canara Bank Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years as on 01 September 2026.
Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 September 1998 and not later than 01 September 2006, both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
The candidate must have passed graduation not earlier than 01 January 2023 and not later than 01 September 2026, both dates inclusive. :
Local Language Requirement
Candidates who have studied the specified local language of the opted State in their 10th or 12th standard and can provide the relevant marks sheet/certificate will not have to undergo the local-language test.
Other candidates will have to qualify the local-language test during the Document Verification process. Candidates who fail the test will not be engaged as apprentices.
Medical Fitness
Engagement of selected apprentices is subject to being declared medically fit as per the requirements of Canara Bank.
Important Eligibility Conditions
- A candidate can opt for training seats in only one State under this project.
- Candidates can provide their preference for districts within the selected State.
- District allotment will depend on the Bank's requirement and availability of training seats.
- The Bank reserves the right to allot a training seat in any district of the selected State according to administrative requirements.
- Candidates must not have previously undergone apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or another organization under the Apprentices Act.
- Candidates who have undergone training or have one or more years of job experience after completing their educational qualification are not eligible.
- Ex-servicemen/Disabled Ex-servicemen will not be engaged as apprentices and there is no reservation for them.
These conditions are specified in the notification's eligibility and reservation provisions.
Canara Bank Apprentice Stipend 2026
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,650/-, including the Government of India subsidy, if applicable.
Of this amount, Canara Bank will pay ₹10,500/- per month into the apprentice's account, while the Government share of ₹6,150/- will be credited directly through DBT as per applicable guidelines. :
Apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances or benefits.
Period and Place of Apprenticeship Training

Apprentices will not be treated as employees of Canara Bank and will not receive employee benefits applicable to Bank employees. :
Canara Bank Apprentice Selection Process 2026
The merit list will be prepared State-wise in descending order based on the marks/percentage obtained in 12th Standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma.
If candidates have the same percentage, they will be ranked according to their age in descending order in the merit list.

The fraction of a percentage is ignored. For example, 59.99% is treated as below 60%, while 54.99% is treated as below 55% for the applicable categories.
Final selection is subject to:
- Verification of eligibility and information furnished in the online application.
- Qualification in the local-language test for the opted State, wherever applicable.
- Being declared medically fit as per Bank requirements.
Document Verification and the local-language test, wherever applicable, are conducted during the Document Verification process.
