All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raebareli has released a Rolling Advertisement for Walk-In-Interview for Senior Resident posts. The recruitment is for appointment of Senior Residents on an ad-hoc basis initially for six months across various departments of the institute.

A total of 111 Senior Resident vacancies are available under the current advertisement. Eligible Indian citizens can appear for the walk-in interview at AIIMS Raebareli on 6 October 2026. Candidates must complete document verification and screening before appearing for the interview.

The advertisement contains 111 Senior Resident vacancies across 35 departments. The category-wise total is 32 UR, 30 OBC, 25 SC, 11 ST and 13 EWS.

Departments with Senior Resident Vacancies

The highest number of vacancies are available in General Medicine/Internal Medicine, with 10 posts, followed by Trauma & Emergency Medicine with 9 posts. Anesthesia & Critical Care and General Surgery have 7 vacancies each, while Nephrology and Radiology/Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology have 6 vacancies each.

Vacancies are also available in Cardiology, CTVS, Surgical Oncology and Urology with 5 posts each, along with several other medical and surgical departments.

Eligibility Criteria for AIIMS Raebareli Senior Resident

Candidates applying for the Senior Resident post must satisfy the essential qualification requirements prescribed for the concerned speciality.

Essential Qualification

• A medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• Candidates possessing qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule must also fulfil the conditions specified under Section 13(3) of the Act.
• Candidates must be registered with the Central or State Medical Council.
• For broad speciality posts, candidates must possess MD/MS/DNB in the concerned speciality or an equivalent qualification.
• For super-speciality posts, the required qualification is MD/MS/DNB in the related broad speciality or DM/M.Ch/DNB in the concerned super-speciality.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for the Senior Resident post is 45 years.

• SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation
• OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation

The applicable age relaxation is subject to the conditions specified in the recruitment advertisement.

Salary

Selected Senior Residents will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-11 with a minimum basic pay of ₹67,700/- plus NPA for medical personnel, as per the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

The appointment is on an ad-hoc basis and therefore candidates appointed under this recruitment will not be entitled to benefits applicable to regular Government employees, including Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, regular medical attendance/treatment benefits, seniority or promotion.

Tenure of Appointment

The Senior Resident appointment is purely on an ad-hoc basis initially for six months from the date of joining.

The tenure may be extended at the discretion of the Executive Director, AIIMS Raebareli. If the tenure is not extended, the appointment will automatically lapse. The appointment may also be terminated by either side without notice as specified in the terms and conditions.

Selection Process

The primary selection process is based on the Interview.

However, if the number of applicants is high, AIIMS Raebareli may conduct a written examination consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the concerned subject. Shortlisted candidates will then be called for the Interview.

How to Apply for AIIMS Raebareli Senior Resident Recruitment 2026

Candidates willing to appear for the walk-in interview must submit their brief bio-data in the prescribed format along with the required certificates and supporting documents.

1. Visit the official AIIMS Raebareli website.
2. Download the prescribed Senior Resident application form/Annexure-A.
3. Fill in the application form completely and accurately.
4. Attach self-attested copies of certificates and testimonials supporting age, category, qualification and experience.
5. Attach the required Medical Council registration certificate.
6. Government/Semi-Government/Corporate employees must bring a No Objection Certificate from their present employer.
7. Bring the completed application/bio-data and all required original documents to AIIMS Raebareli.
8. Report at the venue by 10:00 AM on 06 October 2026 for document verification and screening.
9. Attend the interview from 03:00 PM onwards after completing the verification process.

The application and supporting documents must be complete as on the date of Document Verification and Interview. Candidates are required to produce their original certificates/testimonials during the walk-in interview.

Important Conditions for Candidates

• The selected candidates will be posted at AIIMS Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh.
• The Senior Resident posts are initially for six months on an ad-hoc basis.
• The appointment may be extended at the discretion of the Executive Director, AIIMS Raebareli.
• The appointee will be a whole-time employee of the Institute.
• The appointee cannot accept any other assignment, paid or otherwise, during the appointment.
• Private practice of any kind is not permitted during the appointment.
• Appointment is subject to medical fitness from the competent Medical Board.
• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview or joining the Institute.
• Selection under this ad-hoc recruitment does not create any right to regular appointment at AIIMS Raebareli.
• The Director, AIIMS Raebareli reserves the right to cancel the advertisement or fill fewer or more posts depending on institutional requirements.
• Candidates providing incorrect information or suppressing material facts may have their candidature cancelled or services terminated.

Reservation and Category Certificates

The vacancies are distributed among UR, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories according to Government of India reservation policy.

In case no applicant is available or turns up for the walk-in interview under the EWS category, the EWS category post will be filled by UR as specified in the advertisement.

There is 4% horizontal reservation for PwD candidates as per Government rules.

OBC (NCL) candidates must produce the recent financial year's certificate at the time of reporting.

For EWS candidates, the Income & Asset Certificate must be issued from 01 April 2025 up to the reporting date, based on income for the financial year 2025-26 and valid for the financial year 2026-27.
