Candidates who have obtained a Ph.D. degree from a foreign university must submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. Without the certificate, their candidature will not be considered.
Candidates who obtained a Ph.D. from a foreign university through nomination by the MHRD's Foreign Scholarship Programme are exempted from submitting the Equivalence Certificate.

CSJMU Teaching Recruitment Selection Process
The selection procedure for the teaching positions will be conducted in accordance with the Chancellor Secretariat's Office Orders, 2021 and UGC Regulations 2018 relating to minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other academic staff.
Assistant Professor Selection
The selection process for Assistant Professor posts is conducted in two phases: shortlisting and interview.

For Assistant Professor posts, the written examination is an objective examination of the relevant discipline/branch carrying 40 marks.
The syllabus for the written examination is specified as follows in the notice:

Candidates are given an opportunity to raise objections to the cumulative Basic Academic Score and API/Research Score and subsequently to the written examination score within the periods specified in the recruitment instructions.
A Consolidated Merit List is prepared from the combined Basic Academic Score, API Score and written test. Shortlisted candidates are called for the second phase.
For Assistant Professor posts, final selection is based on performance in the teaching-skills assessment and interview, with the specified minimum requirement of 15 marks in the second phase.

A Consolidated Merit List is prepared using the Basic Academic Score and API/Research Score. A cut-off of not less than 50% of the total score is used for screening/shortlisting an appropriate number of candidates for interview.
For Associate Professor and Professor posts, candidates are provided an opportunity to raise objections to the published cumulative score within the period specified in the notice.
For Music posts, shortlisted candidates must successfully clear the prescribed music skill assessment test before the interview.
API / Research Score for Assistant Professor

The notice states that research/teaching experience marks may be reduced proportionately when the relevant experience is less than one year.
API / Research Score for Associate Professor and Professor
For Associate Professor and Professor posts, the API/Research Score carries 50% weightage. Candidates must provide documentary evidence for research activities, including publications, project sanction letters, utilization/completion certificates, patent-related documents and student Ph.D. award letters, wherever applicable.
The notice specifies minimum API/Research Scores of 75 for Associate Professor and 120 for Professor.
The assessment includes research papers, books and publications, ICT-mediated teaching content, research guidance, completed and ongoing projects, consultancy, patents, policy documents, awards/fellowships and invited lectures/resource-person/paper presentations.

Waiting List
For direct recruitment to teaching positions, a waiting list of not more than two candidates will be maintained and will remain valid for one year from the declaration of the result.
Research Score and Other Guidelines
- The research score is to be calculated according to the methodology prescribed in the recruitment notice and applicable UGC Regulations.
