Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be Indian nationals and should possess the prescribed educational qualifications, relevant post-qualification work experience and age limit as on 28 June 2026.
Educational Qualification and Experience
- Deputy Chief Chemist: Postgraduate Degree in Chemistry with minimum 60% marks and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics at graduation level, plus minimum 9 years relevant post-qualification work experience.
- Deputy Chief Geologist: Postgraduate Degree in Geology or Applied Geology with minimum 60% marks and Mathematics at graduation level, plus minimum 9 years relevant work experience.
- Deputy Chief Engineer (Reservoir): Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering with minimum 65% marks, or Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or Petroleum Technology with the required bachelor’s degree, plus minimum 9 years relevant work experience.
- Deputy Chief Geophysicist: Postgraduate Degree in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics or Exploration Geophysics with minimum 60% marks, plus minimum 9 years relevant work experience.
- Deputy Chief Engineer (Safety and Environment): Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Safety Engineering or Fire Engineering with minimum 65% marks, or Master’s Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety or Health, Safety and Environment with a relevant engineering degree, plus minimum 9 years relevant work experience.
- Economist: Postgraduate Degree in Economics or Business Economics with minimum 60% marks and minimum 9 years experience for Grade D, 13 years for Grade E, and 17 years for Grade F.
Only full-time post-qualification experience in executive cadre or in-line functional work will be considered. Academic, fellowship, internship, part-time, project-based or teaching experience will not be treated as relevant experience.

- Age relaxation of 5 years is available for Ex-Servicemen.
- Age relaxation for PwBD candidates will be as per Government of India rules.
- Candidates having PhD in the relevant discipline will get 3 years age relaxation.

Selection Process
Candidates found eligible and shortlisted will be required to appear only for a Personal Interview (PI). Final selection will be based solely on performance in the Personal Interview, subject to eligibility, document verification and medical fitness.
