OAVS Recruitment 2026 - Online Form for 815 Principal & Teacher Posts

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS), under the School & Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha, has released Advt. No. 1/2026 for the direct recruitment of Principals and Teachers in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas and Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas. A total of 815 regular posts are available across Principal, PGT, TGT, Art Teacher, Physical Education Teacher and Computer Teacher posts.

Eligible candidates can submit the OAVS Recruitment 2026 application online from 12 October 2026 to 11 November 2026 up to 5:00 PM. The recruitment process includes a Computer Based Test (CBT), interview and performance test wherever applicable.

The OAVS Recruitment 2026 notification has announced 815 regular vacancies for Principals and teaching posts.

OAVS Recruitment 2026 Salary

The regular posts will carry Dearness Allowance and other allowances as decided by OAVS from time to time. Regular employees recruited in OAVS will be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS), 2005.

OAVS Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Candidates must be citizens of India and satisfy the educational qualification, experience and other requirements prescribed for the respective post. Candidates must also have passed MIL Odia up to the M.E. standard, subject to the relaxation specified in the notification.

Candidates for the teaching posts should generally possess the prescribed degree in the concerned subject along with a B.Ed. qualification as applicable. Candidates should also have competence to teach in both English and Odia medium.

OAVS Principal Eligibility 2026

Candidates should have a Master's Degree with at least 45% marks from a recognized university and a B.Ed. qualification prescribed by NCTE.

For experience, candidates must satisfy one of the prescribed conditions, including holding an analogous Principal post or the specified Vice-Principal/Assistant Education Officer position, or having the required PGT/Lecturer experience. The notification also provides an alternative requirement of 10 years of combined regular service as TGT and PGT, including 3 years as PGT.

OAVS PGT Eligibility 2026

For PGT posts, candidates should have either a two-year Integrated Post Graduate Course with at least 50% marks or a Master's Degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject, along with a B.Ed. qualification recognized by NCTE.

The minimum qualifying marks are relaxed to 45% for SC, ST, SEBC and PwD candidates.

OAVS TGT Eligibility 2026

For TGT posts, candidates should have either a four-year integrated degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks, or a Bachelor's Degree in the concerned subject with 50% marks along with B.Ed. or the prescribed integrated B.A. B.Ed. qualification.

The minimum qualifying marks are 45% for SC, ST, SEBC and PwD candidates. Candidates must also have proficiency in teaching in both Odia and English medium.

For TGT English, candidates should have studied English as an Elective/Main subject for at least three years or six semesters. For TGT Odia, Odia must have been studied as an Elective/Main subject for at least three years or six semesters.

For TGT Mathematics, candidates may qualify with a Bachelor Degree in Science having at least 200 marks in Mathematics and any two prescribed subjects, or B.E./B.Tech. with 200 marks in Mathematics and any two prescribed subjects.

For TGT Science, candidates should have a Bachelor Degree in Science with any three of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Life Science.

For TGT Social Studies, the prescribed combination includes subjects such as History, Geography, Political Science and Economics along with the additional subjects specified in the notification.

TGT Sanskrit and TGT Hindi have separate subject and training qualifications prescribed in the notification.

OAVS Art Teacher Eligibility 2026

Candidates should have a Bachelor Degree in the concerned subject with 50% marks and a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts/Visual Arts from a recognized university. Candidates should have proficiency in teaching in Odia and English medium.

OAVS PET Eligibility 2026

Candidates should have a Bachelor Degree in the concerned subject with 50% marks and a Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Physical Education, such as B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed., from a recognized university or institution.

OAVS Computer Teacher Eligibility 2026

Candidates should have a Bachelor Degree in the concerned subject with 50% marks and one of the prescribed computer qualifications, including B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science or IT, MCA, M.Sc. IT, M.Sc. Computer Science, B Level of DOEACC/NIELIT, BCA or B.Sc. Computer Science.

Candidates should have competence to teach through English and Odia medium.

Candidates possessing Special B.Ed. or D.Ed. are not eligible for the advertised posts.

OAVS Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

For Principal, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST, Women, SEBC and Ex-servicemen candidates, and by 10 years for PwD candidates.

For other posts, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST and SEBC candidates and by 10 years for PwD candidates. Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is applicable as per the Government of Odisha rules.

Up to 5 years of age relaxation is also available for in-service candidates working as teachers under the State/Central Government or autonomous organizations for teaching posts other than Principal.

OAVS Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT), Interview and Performance Test, wherever applicable. OAVS reserves the right to decide the cut-off marks and shortlisting criteria.

The online question paper will be available in English and Odia. Candidates called for interview or performance test must produce the required original certificates during document verification.

OAVS Exam Pattern 2026

Principal Exam Pattern

The Principal CBT consists of 180 multiple-choice questions for 180 marks with a duration of 180 minutes. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Part I is qualifying in nature. Candidates must secure at least 5 marks each in English and Odia and 13 marks in aggregate for Parts II, III and IV to be evaluated. The final merit is based on Parts II, III, IV and interview, with a weighted scheme of 70% test and 30% interview.

TGT, PGT, PET, Art Teacher and Computer Teacher Exam Pattern

For TGT and PGT posts, the CBT has 200 questions for 200 marks and a duration of 200 minutes. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Part I is qualifying in nature, with minimum qualifying requirements of 5 marks each in English and Odia and 13 marks in aggregate.

An interview of 40 marks is conducted for TGT, PGT and PET posts. The final merit for these posts follows a weighted scheme of 70% test and 30% interview.

Art Teacher and Computer Teacher Selection

The CBT for Art Teacher and Computer Teacher consists of 200 questions for 200 marks with a duration of 200 minutes and 0.25 marks negative marking for each wrong answer.

Part I contains 40 questions from English and Odia, Part II contains 30 questions each from Current Affairs and Reasoning, and Part III contains 100 subject-related questions.

A 20-mark Performance Test and 20-mark Interview are also conducted. The final merit is prepared using the weighted scheme of 50% test, 20% Performance Test and 30% Interview.

The application fee is non-refundable and is to be paid online through SBI e-Pay using debit card or net banking. Bank charges and applicable service tax may be extra.
