IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Educational Qualification
Technician Apprentice
Candidates applying for Technician Apprentice disciplines must possess a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized Institute/University.
Trade Apprentice
For Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic and Machinist, candidates must have passed Matriculation along with a regular full-time 2-year ITI course in the relevant trade recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
Graduate Apprentice
For Graduate Apprentice, candidates must possess a regular full-time Bachelor's Degree in any discipline such as BA, B.Com, B.Sc or BBA from a recognized University/Institute.
The minimum marks requirement is 50% for General, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates for reserved positions.
Data Entry Operator
For Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator (Fresher), candidates must have passed Class 12th but should not be a graduate, with minimum 50% marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates for reserved positions.
For Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders), candidates must additionally possess a Skill Certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under the National Skill Qualifications Framework or another authority recognized by the Central Government.
IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Qualification Conditions
The prescribed qualification must be obtained through a regular full-time course. Qualifications obtained through part-time, correspondence or distance-learning modes are not eligible.
For Graduate and Technician Apprentice disciplines, the prescribed qualification must have been acquired between 01 April 2023 and 30 September 2026.
For Trade Apprentice and Data Entry Operator disciplines, the prescribed qualification must have been acquired between 01 April 2022 and 30 September 2026.
Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or equivalent qualifications, or candidates pursuing higher qualifications that will be completed on or before joining the apprenticeship, are not eligible.

IOCL Apprentice Stipend 2026
The notification does not specify a fixed stipend amount in the advertisement. It states that the rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and Apprentices Rules, 1992/2019/2025, as amended from time to time.

IOCL Apprentice Selection Process 2026
There will be no written test or interview for the selection of apprentices.
Eligible candidates who successfully register on the NAPS/NATS portal and apply against the notified opportunity will be considered for selection. A merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed essential qualification for the respective discipline.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification and must complete the prescribed Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Test. Candidates whose documents and medical fitness certificate are found satisfactory will be issued the offer of engagement for apprenticeship training.
