UPSC Geo-Scientist Nationality Criteria 2027
A candidate must be either:
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India

Assistant Geophysicist Qualification
Candidates applying for Assistant Geophysicist Group 'B' posts must possess M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech.) or Integrated M.Sc. degree in Geophysics, Exploration Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geo-Exploration, Marine Geophysics, Physics, Applied Physics or Applied Geology from a recognised University or Institute.

UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Selection Process 2027
The UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 will be conducted in three stages:
- Stage-I: Preliminary Examination
Objective type examination consisting of two papers. Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Examination will be eligible for the Main Examination. - Stage-II: Main Examination
Descriptive type examination consisting of three papers. - Stage-III: Personality Test / Interview
Candidates qualifying the Main Examination will be called for Personality Test/Interview.
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination and Main Examination will be counted for deciding the final merit as per the examination scheme.
