The category-wise vacancy statement in Annexure-A gives a total of 70 posts, including 28 posts reserved for women.
Educational Qualification
Driver
- Should have passed the Matriculation Standard Examination.
- Should possess a valid driving licence for light and heavy vehicles.
- Should have a minimum of three years of driving experience.
Clerk (Legal)
- Should possess a Law Graduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
- Must qualify the competitive test conducted by the recruiting authority.
- Must qualify the Punjabi and English typing test at 30 words per minute or the speed prescribed by the Punjab Government.
Clerk (Accounts)
For the relevant Clerk (Accounts) posts, candidates should possess the prescribed commerce or graduation qualification. The Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department requires a graduation degree with at least one subject among Statistics, Mathematics or Accounts, along with Punjabi up to Matriculation level.
The Excise and Taxation Department requires a Degree of Commerce from a recognized university or institution.
Candidates must also qualify the competitive examination and the prescribed Punjabi and English typing test.
Clerk (IT)
The qualification varies according to the department. The notification includes relevant qualifications such as:
- Graduation in Computer Application, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computer Technology.
- B.Tech in Computer Science.
- B.Sc. in Information Technology.
- Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA).
- Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application, where prescribed.
The Civil Aviation Department specifies B.E./B.Tech in Information Technology, Electronics and Communication or Computer Science with the prescribed marks, or BCA with the prescribed marks and experience, along with Punjabi at Matriculation level and the Punjabi and English typing test.
Translator
- Graduation degree from a recognized university or institution.
- At least 120 hours of a course with hands-on experience in Personal Computer/Information Technology in Office Productivity or Desktop Publishing applications from a Government-recognized or reputed ISO 9001-certified institution; or
- A Computer Information Technology course equivalent to the 'O' Level certificate of DOEACC, Government of India.
Field Artist
Should be a Graduate in Music, Drama or Dance from a recognized university.
The notification also specifies that candidates applying for the various posts must satisfy the applicable Punjabi language requirement under the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.

Selection Process
For Driver, Translator and Field Artist
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) written examination.
- Part A: Punjabi language paper at the 10th-standard level. It is qualifying in nature and candidates must secure at least 50% marks.
- Part B: The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Part B.
- Negative Marking: 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in Part B.
- Successful candidates will subsequently be called for document verification/counselling.
The Board will publish the roll numbers, syllabus and other examination information on its official website.
For Clerk Posts
The Clerk (Legal), Clerk (Accounts) and Clerk (IT) posts will be filled through an objective-type written examination followed by a qualifying typing test.
- Part A: 10th-level Punjabi language paper, qualifying in nature.
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum 50% in Part A.
- Part B: Merit will be based on Part B marks.
- Negative Marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
- Typing Test: Punjabi and English typing at 30 words per minute.
- The typing test will be conducted on a computer.
- Punjabi typing will be conducted using the Unicode-compliant Raavi font.
- The typing test is qualifying in nature.
- Eligible candidates will subsequently be called for counselling/document verification.
The Common Merit List will be prepared on the basis of Part-B written examination marks among candidates who qualify the typing test.

- Submit the completed application form.
- Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
The Board will accept applications only through online mode. Applications submitted through any other method will not be accepted. Once the application is submitted, no modification will be permitted.
