OSSSC Radiographer Recruitment 2026: Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has released Advertisement No. IIE-60/2026-2630/OSSSC dated 28 August 2026 for recruitment to the post of Radiographer under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha. A total of 240 District Cadre Group-C vacancies have been announced across all 30 districts of Odisha.

Eligible candidates having +2 Science along with Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology (DMRT) or Bachelor in Medical Radiation Technology (BMRT), valid registration with the Radiographers Council and the prescribed Odia language qualification can apply online. OSSSC Radiographer Vacancy 2026

OSSSC has announced a total of 240 Radiographer vacancies across the 30 district establishments of Odisha.

The vacancies are District Cadre posts. A candidate appointed against a particular district will ordinarily be posted and transferred within that district according to the applicable service rules.

OSSSC Radiographer District Preference 2026

Candidates are required to indicate their preferred districts in the online application in order of preference.

Applicants should exercise district preferences carefully because selecting a particular district does not create an automatic right to appointment in that district.

OSSSC may subsequently allow candidates to re-exercise district preferences after the Written Test. If a candidate does not revise the preference during such an opportunity, the earlier preference will continue to remain valid. Any revised preference submitted within the permitted period will be treated as final.

OSSSC Radiographer Salary 2026

The appointment will be made under the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay Rules, 2017 and candidates will receive applicable allowances according to Government rules.

OSSSC Radiographer Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed age, educational qualification, professional registration, Odia language, nationality and other eligibility conditions.

OSSSC Radiographer Educational Qualification 2026

A candidate must have:

• Passed +2 Science Examination under the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or an equivalent examination; and
• Passed Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology (DMRT) or Bachelor in Medical Radiation Technology (BMRT).

The DMRT / BMRT qualification should be obtained from:

• A Government Medical College and Hospital of Odisha; or
• Another private institution recognised by the Government of Odisha; or
• An institution recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education, as applicable under the notification.

OSSSC Radiographers Council Registration 2026

Candidates must have registered their name with the Radiographers Council in the State.

They must possess a valid Registration Certificate or Renewal Certificate on the date of submission of the online application form. The valid certificate is required to be uploaded during online application.

OSSSC Radiographer Odia Language Qualification 2026

The candidate must be able to speak, read and write Odia and should satisfy at least one of the following conditions:

• Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject; or
• Passed Matriculation or equivalent examination with Odia as the medium of examination in non-language subjects; or
• Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII or above from a recognised School / Educational Institution; or
• Passed a test in Odia in M.E. School Standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department.

OSSSC Radiographer Age Limit 2026

The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above 42 years as on 28 August 2026, the date of advertisement.

The Date of Birth mentioned in the HSC Certificate or equivalent certificate issued by a recognised Board / Council / University will be accepted for determining age.

OSSSC Radiographer Age Relaxation 2026

PwD candidates belonging to SC / ST / SEBC categories can receive the prescribed cumulative disability relaxation over and above the normal relaxation available to their social category, subject to the applicable rules.

OSSSC Contractual Radiographer Age Limit 2026

For eligible contractual Radiographers working under OSH&FW Society / Scheme, the upper age limit is 45 years as on the date of advertisement.

Candidates claiming this provision must upload the appointment letter issued by their employer along with self-attestation and keep the original appointment letter and supporting documents ready for verification after the Written Test.

A candidate must also:

• Be a citizen of India.
• Be of good character.
• Not have more than one spouse living, unless exempted under the applicable Government rule.

OSSSC Radiographer PwD Eligibility 2026

Candidates claiming reservation under Persons with Disabilities must possess a Permanent Disability Certificate showing not less than 40% disability and must belong to a disability category and functional classification identified as suitable for the post.

PwD candidates must upload the scanned copy of the original UDID Card / Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority.

Candidates with benchmark disability are eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour in the Written Test according to applicable rules.

Eligible candidates requiring a scribe must obtain the prescribed written permission from the concerned ADM-cum-District Superintendent at least three days before the Written Test.

OSSSC Examination Fee Refund 2026

A notable provision in the notification is that the Rs. 500 examination fee will be refunded to candidates who actually appear in the examination.

The refund will be processed after the examination and verification of attendance records and will ordinarily be credited to the bank account or payment method used while submitting the online application.

No refund will be admissible to candidates who fail to appear in the examination.

OSSSC Radiographer Exam Pattern 2026

The Written Test will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. The duration will be 2 hours.

OSSSC Radiographer Written Test Details 2026

OSSSC Radiographer Negative Marking 2026

• Each question will have four alternative answers.
• One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
• 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
• If more than one option is marked for a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer and the same negative marking will apply.
• No negative mark will be deducted for an unanswered question.

OSSSC Radiographer Minimum Qualifying Marks 2026

Merely securing the minimum qualifying marks does not guarantee selection or a place in the Document Verification list.

OSSSC Radiographer Tie-Breaking Rule 2026

If two or more candidates obtain the same aggregate marks / normalised score, the tie will be resolved in the following order:

1. Professional Qualification Marks: The candidate having a higher percentage of marks in DMRT / applicable professional qualification will be ranked higher.
2. Age Seniority: If professional qualification marks are equal, the older candidate will be placed above the younger candidate.
3. Higher Secondary (+2) Marks: If the candidates have the same date of birth, the candidate with higher marks in +2 Science or equivalent will be ranked higher.
4. Commission's Decision: Any unresolved deadlock may be decided by the Commission using any other suitable criteria.

OSSSC Radiographer Normalisation 2026

If the Written Test is conducted in CBRE mode on different dates or in multiple shifts, OSSSC may apply its prescribed normalisation formula to convert raw scores into normalised scores.

The merit list will then be prepared on the basis of the applicable marks / normalised scores and the prescribed category and district preference rules.

OSSSC Radiographer Document Verification 2026

After the Written Test, OSSSC will publish a Provisional Master Merit List of candidates who appeared in the examination.

From the candidates securing the prescribed minimum qualifying marks / normalised score, candidates will be screened for Document Verification. The initial screening list will ordinarily contain not less than 1.25 times the number of vacancies advertised, category / special-category wise, subject to the Commission's decision.

Candidates are admitted to the Written Test provisionally based on the information submitted in their online application. Original documents are not verified before the Written Test.

Original documents will subsequently be checked during Document Verification by the concerned District Level Board.

OSSSC Radiographer District Allocation 2026

District allocation will be made on the basis of applicable merit, actual vacancy availability and district preferences exercised by candidates.

OSSSC may also conduct Physical Counselling for shortlisted candidates if considered necessary. During counselling, district allocation may be made through merit-cum-choice against the vacancies available at that stage.

A candidate does not acquire a legal right to a particular district merely because that district was placed higher in the preference list.

OSSSC Radiographer Provisional Select List 2026

The Provisional Select List will be drawn from eligible candidates after Document Verification and will be prepared separately for each district according to the actual number of vacancies.

Selection / district allocation will be based on:

• Merit
• Availability of vacancy
• Candidate's district preference
• Applicable reservation rules
• Any "Not Interested" option exercised by the candidate, if provided

OSSSC Radiographer Admission Letter 2026

Provisional Admission Letters / Intimation Letters containing the examination date, time and venue will be uploaded on the OSSSC website.

Candidates will have to login using their User ID and Password and download the Admission Letter / Intimation Letter from the Applicant Menu.

OSSSC will not send printed Admission Letters through post or any other mode.
