OSSSC has announced a total of 240 Radiographer vacancies across the 30 district establishments of Odisha.
The vacancies are District Cadre posts. A candidate appointed against a particular district will ordinarily be posted and transferred within that district according to the applicable service rules.

OSSSC Radiographer District Preference 2026
Candidates are required to indicate their preferred districts in the online application in order of preference.
Applicants should exercise district preferences carefully because selecting a particular district does not create an automatic right to appointment in that district.
OSSSC may subsequently allow candidates to re-exercise district preferences after the Written Test. If a candidate does not revise the preference during such an opportunity, the earlier preference will continue to remain valid. Any revised preference submitted within the permitted period will be treated as final.

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed age, educational qualification, professional registration, Odia language, nationality and other eligibility conditions.
OSSSC Radiographer Educational Qualification 2026
A candidate must have:
- Passed +2 Science Examination under the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or an equivalent examination; and
- Passed Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology (DMRT) or Bachelor in Medical Radiation Technology (BMRT).
The DMRT / BMRT qualification should be obtained from:
- A Government Medical College and Hospital of Odisha; or
- Another private institution recognised by the Government of Odisha; or

Candidates must have registered their name with the Radiographers Council in the State.

The candidate must be able to speak, read and write Odia and should satisfy at least one of the following conditions:
- Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject; or
- Passed Matriculation or equivalent examination with Odia as the medium of examination in non-language subjects; or
- Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII or above from a recognised School / Educational Institution; or

- Each question will have four alternative answers.
- One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
- 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- If more than one option is marked for a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer and the same negative marking will apply.
- No negative mark will be deducted for an unanswered question.

OSSSC Radiographer Tie-Breaking Rule 2026
If two or more candidates obtain the same aggregate marks / normalised score, the tie will be resolved in the following order:
- Professional Qualification Marks: The candidate having a higher percentage of marks in DMRT / applicable professional qualification will be ranked higher.
- Age Seniority: If professional qualification marks are equal, the older candidate will be placed above the younger candidate.
- Higher Secondary (+2) Marks: If the candidates have the same date of birth, the candidate with higher marks in +2 Science or equivalent will be ranked higher.
- Commission's Decision: Any unresolved deadlock may be decided by the Commission using any other suitable criteria.
OSSSC Radiographer Normalisation 2026
If the Written Test is conducted in CBRE mode on different dates or in multiple shifts, OSSSC may apply its prescribed normalisation formula to convert raw scores into normalised scores.
The merit list will then be prepared on the basis of the applicable marks / normalised scores and the prescribed category and district preference rules.
OSSSC Radiographer Document Verification 2026
After the Written Test, OSSSC will publish a Provisional Master Merit List of candidates who appeared in the examination.
From the candidates securing the prescribed minimum qualifying marks / normalised score, candidates will be screened for Document Verification. The initial screening list will ordinarily contain not less than 1.25 times the number of vacancies advertised, category / special-category wise, subject to the Commission's decision.
Candidates are admitted to the Written Test provisionally based on the information submitted in their online application. Original documents are not verified before the Written Test.
Original documents will subsequently be checked during Document Verification by the concerned District Level Board.

OSSSC Radiographer District Allocation 2026
District allocation will be made on the basis of applicable merit, actual vacancy availability and district preferences exercised by candidates.
OSSSC may also conduct Physical Counselling for shortlisted candidates if considered necessary. During counselling, district allocation may be made through merit-cum-choice against the vacancies available at that stage.
A candidate does not acquire a legal right to a particular district merely because that district was placed higher in the preference list.
OSSSC Radiographer Provisional Select List 2026
The Provisional Select List will be drawn from eligible candidates after Document Verification and will be prepared separately for each district according to the actual number of vacancies.
