Who Can Apply for Oriental Insurance Actuarial Apprentice Recruitment?

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed by Oriental Insurance as on 01 September 2026.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must be a Graduate.

In addition, the candidate must have passed a minimum of 4 Actuarial Papers, excluding CB3, of IAI/IFoA.

IAI refers to the Institute of Actuaries of India, while IFoA refers to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Desirable Qualification

Proficiency in R, Python or SQL is desirable.

Oriental Insurance Actuarial Apprentice Age Limit

The minimum age of an apprentice should be 21 years as on 01 September 2026. The maximum age limit is 30 years.

Monthly Stipend and Apprenticeship Duration

Selection Process

All eligible candidates will have to appear for a Personal Interview before the Interview Panel.

Selection will be based on the candidate's performance in the Personal Interview. The qualifying marks for the Personal Interview will be decided by the Company.

Important Terms of the Apprenticeship

Apprentice Status

An apprentice undergoing this apprenticeship will be treated as a trainee and not as a worker or employee of the Company. The apprenticeship itself does not guarantee employment in Oriental Insurance.

No Automatic Absorption

Completion of the apprenticeship will not make the apprentice eligible for absorption or further employment in the Company by virtue of the apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship also does not provide any right or entitlement to claim employment, compensation or other benefits from the Company beyond those expressly provided under the apprenticeship terms.

Completion of the apprenticeship will not provide any weightage, preference, precedence or preferential consideration in future recruitment processes of the Company.

Employee Benefits

Apprentices will not be entitled to the benefits, facilities, allowances or other emoluments available to regular employees of the Company, except where specifically provided under the apprenticeship terms.

The notification states that no deduction towards employee benefits or statutory contributions such as Provident Fund or Staff Mediclaim will be made from the stipend payable to apprentices.

Leave and Holidays

During the training period, an apprentice will be entitled to one day of leave per month. The leave will be credited at the beginning of the subsequent month and can be availed only with prior permission from the Competent Authority.

If the entitled leave is not used in a particular month, it may be carried forward to the next month.

No stipend deduction will be made for entitled leave. For other absence, stipend will be deducted on a pro-rata basis. There is no provision for overtime allowance.

Apprentices will also be entitled to holidays observed by the Company.

Apprenticeship Certificate

On successful completion of training, apprentices will be awarded an Apprenticeship Certificate, subject to satisfactory performance.
