NTPC Green Energy Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 114 Assistant Engineer and Deputy General Manager Posts

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has released Advertisement No. 02/26 for the recruitment of experienced professionals in the renewable energy sector. The recruitment is for deployment at NGEL corporate offices, stations, project sites, clusters, joint ventures and subsidiaries across India.

A total of 114 projected vacancies have been announced, including 100 Assistant Engineer–RE posts and 14 Deputy General Manager–RE posts. Candidates with the prescribed Diploma or Engineering Degree and relevant experience in solar, wind and power-sector projects can apply online.

The online application process starts on 11 July 2026 at 10:00 AM and the last date to submit the application is 31 August 2026 up to 6:00 PM.

Assistant Engineer–RE Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a regular full-time Diploma in Engineering in any one of the following disciplines:

• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Instrumentation Engineering

The Diploma must be obtained from a State Technical Board or an AICTE/UGC-recognized institution. Candidates with pass marks are eligible, subject to meeting all other requirements.

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification site experience in the power sector.
• The training period, if any, will be included while calculating experience.
• Experience may be from a Government organization, Public Sector Undertaking or private organization.
• Out of the total experience, at least 6 years must be in grid-connected solar and/or wind projects of 50 MW or above.
• The required renewable energy experience must be in Operation and Maintenance or Asset Management.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for Assistant Engineer–RE is 40 years as on the last date of online application.

Assistant Engineer Salary

• Grade: E-0
• Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000–1,20,000
• Initial Basic Pay: Rs. 40,000

Selected candidates will also receive Dearness Allowance, perquisites, allowances, terminal benefits and other benefits according to NGEL rules.

Deputy General Manager–RE Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a regular full-time Graduate Degree in Engineering in any one of the following disciplines:

• Electrical Engineering
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Control and Instrumentation Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

The Engineering Degree must be obtained from a recognized Indian university or institution approved by the appropriate statutory authority.

Minimum Marks

• General, EWS and OBC candidates: Minimum 60% marks.
• SC, ST and PwBD candidates: Pass marks are accepted.

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 12 years of post-qualification executive experience in the power sector.
• The training or trainee period, if any, will be included while calculating experience.
• Experience may be from a Government organization, Public Sector Undertaking or private organization.
• At least 10 years of experience must be with a renewable energy developer involved in solar and/or wind projects.
• Candidates must possess at least 2 years of site experience in grid-connected solar and/or wind projects of 50 MW or above.
• The site experience must be in project construction, erection, project commissioning or a combination of these areas.

Additional Requirement for Government and PSU Candidates

Candidates working in Government organizations or Public Sector Undertakings must have at least 2 years of experience in the pay scale of:

Rs. 80,000–2,20,000 or above

This corresponds to IDA E-5 Grade or an equivalent pay scale, out of the required 12 years of post-qualification executive experience.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for Deputy General Manager–RE is 44 years as on the last date of online application.

Deputy General Manager Salary

• Grade: E-6
• Pay Scale: Rs. 90,000–2,40,000
• Initial Basic Pay: Rs. 90,000

The registration fee is non-refundable. Candidates can pay online through the SBI Collect payment gateway using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.

NTPC Green Energy Selection Process

NGEL may adopt a multi-stage selection process depending on the number of applications received and organizational requirements.

Shortlisting may be based on educational qualification, percentage of marks, number of years of experience, nature of experience and other prescribed criteria.

Medical Fitness

• Candidates must possess sound health.
• Selected candidates will have to undergo a medical examination before joining.
• The medical examination will be conducted at a specified Government hospital having at least district-hospital status.
• No relaxation in the prescribed medical or health standards will be permitted.
• The medical fitness decision issued by the hospital will be final and binding.
