The High Court of Madras has released Data Entry Operator Recruitment 2026 notification for 115 Data Entry Operator posts under e-Sewa Kendras. Candidates with B.Sc./BCA/B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech qualifications can apply online from 23 September 2026 to 29 September 2026.

The High Court of Madras has released Notification No. 217/2026 dated 23 September 2026 for the recruitment of Data Entry Operator for e-Sewa Kendras in the Principal Seat of Madras High Court and District Judiciary as contractual staff. A total of 115 Data Entry Operator vacancies are available. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through online mode only. The last date to submit the online application is 29 September 2026. The tentative Written-cum-Skill Test is scheduled for 10 October 2026 / 11 October 2026, while the Viva Voce is tentatively scheduled for 24 October 2026 / 25 October 2026.

Madras High Court Data Entry Operator Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed as Data Entry Operator on a contractual basis with a consolidated pay of ₹15,000 per month.

The notification specifically states that the post is purely contractual and candidates cannot claim permanency in the future. The Madras High Court may terminate the employment of a selected candidate at any time without assigning any reason.

Age Limit

The candidate's age will be calculated as on 01 September 2026.

Madras High Court Data Entry Operator Selection Process 2026

The selection of candidates will be based on the following stages:

  1. Written-cum-Skill Test
  2. Viva Voce

The final selection will be made based on the total marks secured in the Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce. The recruitment is conducted purely on merit basis.

Written-cum-Skill Test

The Written-cum-Skill Test has a total duration of 60 minutes.

Written Examination

The Written Examination consists of 25 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question carries one mark.

  • Configuring Local Area Network and IP configurations
  • Hardware troubleshooting and driver installations

Shortlisting for Viva Voce

Candidates will be shortlisted for Viva Voce based on merit in the Written-cum-Skill Test from among the qualified candidates in the ratio of 1:3.

If two or more candidates secure equal marks, all such candidates will be called for Viva Voce.

The Viva Voce is intended to assess the suitability of candidates by judging their mental alertness, skills, attitude, ethics, character and experience in areas including Computer Skill, Computer Network, Database and Operating Systems.

Final Selection and Merit List

Final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks secured in the Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce.

If two or more candidates secure equal total marks, the candidate who is senior in age will be placed higher in the merit list.

The final selection will be decided only after scrutiny and verification of the original documents and testimonials produced by the candidates.

Nature of Work for Data Entry Operator

The selected Data Entry Operators will work at e-Sewa Kendras and will be responsible for assisting the public and handling various digitally available court services.

The duties include:

  • Handling enquiries regarding case status, next date of hearing and other case details.
  • Handling video-conference appearances and assisting video-conference hearings.
  • Facilitating online applications for certificate copies and other filings.
  • Facilitating eFiling of petitions, including scanning hard-copy petitions, appending eSignatures, uploading them into CIS and generating filing numbers.
  • Performing data entry work related to eServices.
  • Assisting with online purchase of eStamp papers and ePayments.
  • Helping applicants apply for and obtain Aadhaar-based digital signatures.
  • Publicizing and assisting people in downloading the eCourts mobile application for Android and iOS.
  • Handling queries regarding Judges on leave.
  • Handling queries regarding court locations, cause lists and whether a case is taken up for hearing.
  • Guiding people on how to obtain free legal services from the District Legal Services Authority, High Court Legal Services Committee and Supreme Court Legal Services Committee.
  • Facilitating disposal of traffic challans in virtual courts and online compounding of traffic challans and other petty offences.
  • Providing assistance regarding facilities digitally available under the eCourt Project.
  • Performing any other work assigned by the Registrar (IT-cum-Statistics), Madras High Court.

Madras High Court Recruitment 2026 Important Terms and Conditions

  • The post is purely contractual and candidates cannot claim permanency in the future.
  • The selected candidate is eligible for only 12 days of casual leave per year.
  • Sandwich leave is not permitted.
  • Salary will be deducted for absence or leave beyond the permissible leave.
  • Candidates cannot claim transfer from one District to another.
  • Candidates may be required to attend office irrespective of Court hours, including odd hours and Court holidays, when required.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  • Candidates required to attend another eSewa Kendra in addition to their allotted eSewa Kendra cannot claim TA/DA.
  • Candidates must accept the terms and conditions issued by the Madras High Court from time to time.
  • The High Court may terminate the employment of a selected candidate at any time without assigning any reason.

Important Instructions for Applicants

  • Applications will be accepted through the official online application portal only.
  • Applications sent by post, courier, Speed Post, email, hand delivery or any other mode will not be accepted.
  • Candidates should use only a Desktop or Laptop to apply. The application module is compatible with Desktop/Laptop and candidates are advised not to apply using a smartphone or tablet.
  • Mere registration will not be treated as submission of an application.
  • Candidates are responsible for the correctness of all details entered in the application.
  • Once finally submitted, the online application cannot be edited.
  • Candidates should carefully verify all details before final submission.
  • False or incorrect information or ineligibility detected at any stage can result in rejection of candidature.
  • Candidates should not engage in canvassing.

Examination Centres

The Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce will be conducted at the campus of the Principal District Court of the concerned District or at any other place notified by the District Court.

Requests for change of examination venue will not be entertained.

The date of Viva Voce and Certificate Verification for shortlisted candidates will be published only on the official recruitment website and the respective District Court website. No personal intimation through post or courier will be sent.

Place of Posting

Selected candidates will be posted in the e-Sewa Kendras of the District for which they applied.
