JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - 518 Horticulture Technician, Junior Staff Nurse & More Posts

Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2026 for recruitment to various UT, Divisional and District Cadre posts in different departments of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

A total of 518 vacancies have been announced under the Agriculture Production Department, Health and Medical Education Department, Higher Education Department and Labour and Employment Department.

The recruitment includes Senior Canning Attendant, Horticulture Technician Grade-IV, Health Educator, Sanitary Inspector, Junior Pharmacist, Para Medical Assistant, Junior Theatre Technician, Junior Ophthalmic Technician, Junior Laboratory Technician, Junior Staff Nurse, FMPHW, MMPHW, Junior Laboratory Assistant and Supervisor posts.

Eligible candidates can submit their online applications from 10 September 2026 to 09 October 2026 through the official JKSSB website.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the required qualification on or before 09 October 2026. Candidates claiming an equivalent qualification may be required to produce an equivalence certificate from the competent authority.

JKSSB Age Limit 2026

The age limit will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.

Ex-Servicemen Age Relaxation

Ex-Servicemen may deduct the period of service rendered in the Armed Forces from their actual age. If the resulting age does not exceed the prescribed upper age limit by more than three years, they will be treated as satisfying the age condition.

Jammu and Kashmir Domicile Requirement

• Candidates must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
• A valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority is mandatory.
• The domicile certificate must be valid and available on or before 09 October 2026.
• The original domicile certificate must be produced during document verification.

JKSSB Application Fee

• The fee must be paid through online mode only.
• Payment can be made through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
• Applications submitted without successful fee payment will be rejected.
• The application fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against another examination.

Selection for all advertised posts will be made on the basis of merit obtained in the written or OMR examination.

No interview is mentioned for the advertised posts. Candidates will be considered only for those item numbers for which they have applied and are otherwise eligible.

JKSSB Exam Pattern

• The examination will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• The questions will be set in the English language only.
• There will be negative marking.
• One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
• The detailed post-wise syllabus will be notified separately on the JKSSB website.

Examination Date and Admit Card

The examination date, time and centre details will be announced separately by JKSSB on its official website.

• Admit cards are expected to be made available approximately one week before the examination.
• No admit card or roll number slip will be sent by post.
• Candidates must download and print the admit card from the JKSSB website.
• Candidates must carry the admit card, two recent passport-size photographs and an original valid photo identity proof to the examination centre.

Document Verification

Candidates shortlisted for document verification must appear with original documents and self-attested photocopies.

• Date of birth certificate or Matriculation certificate
• Educational and technical qualification certificates
• Jammu and Kashmir domicile certificate
• Reserved category certificate, where applicable
• PwBD certificate, where applicable
• Ex-Servicemen certificate in the prescribed format, where applicable
• Bonafide certificate for specified qualifications obtained outside Jammu and Kashmir, where applicable
• Two recent passport-size colour photographs
• Original valid photo identity proof

Candidates who fail to appear for document verification or fail to produce the required original documents will not be considered for selection.

Scribe and Compensatory Time

• Eligible PwBD candidates may use a scribe, subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.
• Candidates must arrange their own scribe.
• The scribe must have a qualification lower than that of the candidate and must not possess a qualification higher than the minimum qualification required for the post.
• Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination may be provided.
• The prescribed medical certificate and undertaking must be produced at the examination centre.

• No request for correction or modification will be accepted after submission.
• Post, cadre and department preferences cannot be changed after submission.
• Applications containing blurred or illegible photographs or signatures will be rejected.
• Candidates must enter their name, parents’ names and date of birth exactly as shown in the Matriculation certificate.
• Category and qualification certificates must be valid as on 09 October 2026.
• Candidates should apply well before the closing date to avoid technical problems.
• A hard copy of the application should not be sent to JKSSB by post, email or in person.
• Mobile phones, smart watches, cameras, Bluetooth devices, AI-enabled devices and other electronic equipment are prohibited inside the examination centre.
