JKSSB Class IV Recruitment 2026: Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 dated 01 September 2026 for direct recruitment to Class-IV (Multi Tasking Staff) and Sanitation Worker posts in various departments of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A total of 2,863 vacancies have been advertised under UT, Divisional and District Cadres.

Eligible candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir can submit online applications from 05 October 2026. The last date for submission of the online application form is 03 November 2026. Candidates must possess a valid J&K Domicile Certificate on or before the closing date.

JKSSB Class IV Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed domicile, age, educational qualification and category requirements on or before the applicable cut-off date.

  • The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • A valid Domicile Certificate must be available on or before 03 November 2026.

JKSSB Ex-Servicemen Age Relaxation 2026

Eligible Ex-Servicemen may deduct the period of service rendered in the Armed Forces from their actual age.

If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than three years, the candidate will be deemed to satisfy the age requirement.

An Ex-Serviceman candidate should not have been born after 01 January 2008.

Who Is Considered Family for JKSSB Additional Weightage?

For the additional 5 marks relating to a candidate whose family member has not been in Government service, the notification defines Family as:

Who Is Considered a Casual Worker?

For the purpose of additional weightage, a Casual Worker includes persons working as:

  • Daily Rated Workers;
  • Workers engaged through Hospital Development Fund;
  • Workers engaged through Local Fund;
  • Adhoc Workers;
  • Contractual Workers; or
  • Consolidated Workers.

The claim is required to be verified and authenticated by an officer holding the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Additional Commissioner or Additional Deputy Commissioner of the concerned jurisdiction.

Widow / Divorced / Judicially Separated / Orphan Girl

The required certificate is to be issued by the Tehsildar.

Casual Worker

A candidate claiming casual-worker weightage must provide proof of wages for a minimum period of five years. The certificate must be countersigned by the District / Divisional Head of the office where the candidate has worked.

Home Division / Home District

The candidate's Home Division / Home District will be determined on the basis of the Domicile Certificate.

JKSSB PwBD Scribe Facility 2026

Eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities may avail a scribe and / or compensatory time according to the conditions prescribed by JKSSB.

  • Compensatory time is 20 minutes per hour of examination.
  • The candidate must arrange his or her own scribe.
  • The scribe must satisfy the educational qualification restrictions prescribed in the notification.
  • The candidate must submit the required medical certificate and undertaking.
