IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age limit and other apprenticeship eligibility conditions as on 31 August 2026.
The prescribed qualification must have been obtained as a full-time regular course from a recognised university or institute. Candidates possessing qualifications through part-time, correspondence or distance-learning mode are not eligible for the notified disciplines.

IOCL Data Entry Operator Apprentice Qualification
Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Fresher)
Candidates must have passed Class 12 but should be below Graduate qualification.
Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holder)
Candidates must have passed Class 12 but should be below Graduate qualification. They must additionally possess a Skill Certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator for training of less than one year, issued by an awarding body recognised under the National Skill Qualifications Framework or another authority recognised by the Central Government.
IOCL Apprentice Higher Qualification Restrictions
Candidates possessing or pursuing certain higher professional qualifications are not eligible under this apprentice recruitment.

IOCL Apprentice Five-Year Qualification Rule
- NATS candidates who have completed five years as on 31 August 2026 after acquiring the prescribed qualification in the relevant discipline are not eligible.
- NAPS candidates who have completed five years as on 31 August 2026 after acquiring the prescribed qualification are also not eligible.
Previous Apprenticeship and Experience Conditions
- A candidate can undergo a maximum of two apprenticeship trainings.
- The second apprenticeship training cannot be in the same trade.
- Normally, there must be a minimum gap of one year between two completed apprenticeship trainings.
- Different waiting-period conditions apply where an earlier apprenticeship was terminated for specified reasons.
- Candidates whose apprenticeship contract was terminated because of their failure to comply with the terms of contract are not entitled to enter into another apprenticeship contract.
- Diploma holders or vocational-certificate holders having job experience of one year or more after obtaining the qualification are not eligible.
- Candidates whose apprenticeship contract has already been approved by BOAT on the NATS portal should note that BOAT Northern Region does not permit creation of a second apprenticeship contract even if the earlier contract is subsequently terminated.

IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Reservation
Reservation for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwBD candidates will be applicable according to the prescribed Government rules for the respective State or Union Territory.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates applying for Unreserved seats must meet the standards prescribed for General-category candidates.
- OBC candidates belonging to the Creamy Layer are not entitled to OBC-NCL reservation.
- Only communities included in the Central Government list of OBCs for the respective State will be considered under OBC-NCL reservation.
- The OBC-NCL certificate should have been issued on or after 01 September 2025 to meet the validity condition as on 31 August 2026.
IOCL Apprentice PwBD Eligibility
PwBD reservation is available horizontally for Graduate Apprentice and Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator disciplines, subject to Government guidelines.
PwBD candidates are not eligible to apply for Discipline Codes 101 to 111 covering Technician Apprentice and ITI Trade Apprentice disciplines.
Eligible disability categories for applicable apprentice disciplines include:

IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Stipend
The stipend payable to apprentices will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprentices Rules, 1992 and applicable amendments and Government guidelines.
In addition to the statutory stipend, apprentices will receive Rs. 2,500 per month towards miscellaneous expenses from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Marketing Division, Northern Region.
Stipend Payment for Graduate and Technician Apprentices
A portion of the stipend for Graduate and Technician Apprentices will be paid directly into the apprentice's bank account by the Board of Apprenticeship Training through the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme.
Stipend Payment for Trade Apprentices
Trade Apprentices registered under NAPS will receive their stipend from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Marketing Division, Northern Region, subject to the applicable apprenticeship guidelines.
Aadhaar-Seeded Bank Account Requirement
- Candidates must have an active bank account.
- The bank account should be seeded with Aadhaar.
- The account must be enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer.
- The same bank-account details should be correctly updated on the NATS portal.
- Candidates must also update their APAAR ID and complete e-KYC on the NATS portal where applicable.
- A cheque book containing the candidate's printed name will be required after engagement.
IOCL Apprentice Training Period 2026
The apprenticeship training period is 12 months for all disciplines.
Completion of apprenticeship training does not create any right to permanent employment in Indian Oil Corporation Limited. IOCL has no obligation to provide regular employment after completion of apprenticeship.

Merit List Preparation
The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks secured by candidates in the prescribed qualification for the relevant post.
IOCL Apprentice Tie-Breaking Rule
If two candidates obtain the same percentage of marks:
- The candidate with the earlier date of birth, meaning the older candidate, will be given preference.
- If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate having a higher percentage of marks in Matriculation will be preferred.
Preference will also be given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
IOCL Apprentice Pre-Engagement Medical Examination
- Shortlisted candidates must qualify the Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Test.
- Medical fitness will be determined according to Indian Oil's prescribed medical standards.
- Candidates should review IOCL's Guidelines and Criteria for Physical Fitness for Pre-Engagement Medical Examination before applying.
- Only candidates who clear document verification and medical fitness will be considered suitable for engagement.
- Medical test and investigation expenses up to a maximum of Rs. 3,000 may be reimbursed on production of receipts.

Candidates must complete both the applicable NAPS/NATS application and the Microsoft Form. Completing only one of these steps will not be sufficient.
