Income Tax Pune Sports Quota Selection Criteria 2026
Meritorious sportspersons will be considered for appointment according to the order of preference prescribed by the Department of Personnel and Training.
First Preference
Candidates who have represented India in an International Competition with clearance from the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Second Preference
Candidates who represented a State or Union Territory in Senior or Junior National Championships recognised by the Department of Sports or in National Games organised by the Indian Olympic Association and secured a medal or position up to third place.
Among candidates participating in Senior and Junior National Championships, preference will be given to candidates who won medals in Senior National Championships.
Third Preference
Candidates who represented a University in an Inter-University competition conducted by the Association of Indian Universities / Inter-University Sports Board or Khelo India University Games and won a medal or position up to third place in the finals.
Fourth Preference
Candidates who represented a State or Union Territory in Khelo India Youth Games for the above-18 age category, Khelo India Winter Games or Khelo India Para Games and secured a medal or position up to third place.
Fifth Preference
Candidates who represented State Schools in National Sports / Games for Schools and secured a medal or position up to third place.
Sixth Preference
Candidates who represented State, Union Territory, University or State School teams at the levels mentioned above but did not win a medal or position.
Tie-Breaking Preference
- In case of a tie, preference may be given to the candidate securing a higher position or winning more than one medal.
- Participation in individual and team events will receive the same preference.
- No separate preference will be given merely for winning more than one medal or position.
