Who Can Apply for IISc Junior Security Assistant Recruitment?
The post is intended for candidates who meet the prescribed educational, service and other eligibility requirements. Candidates must have passed SSLC/Matriculation or equivalent.
In addition, applicants must belong to one of the specified service categories:
- Combatant Ex-Agniveers of the Indian Army.
- Combatant Ex-Agniveers of the Indian Navy.
- Combatant Ex-Agniveers of the Indian Air Force (Agniveervayu).
- Ex-servicemen.
- Ex-Central Armed Police Forces (Ex-CAPF) personnel.
For Ex-servicemen and Ex-CAPF personnel, the notification specifies at least four years of service with a discharge certificate.
Combatant Agniveers of the first batch who have not yet completed their four-year engagement period are also eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed SSLC/Matriculation or equivalent.

Job Responsibilities
The Junior Security Assistant will be responsible for security-related duties at the Institute. The major responsibilities include:
- Controlling the entry and exit of personnel, visitors and vehicles at designated gates and access points.
- Conducting regular campus patrols to prevent unauthorized activities.
- Monitoring CCTV systems, alarm systems and other security equipment.
- Reporting suspicious activities or security breaches promptly.
- Responding to emergencies such as fire incidents, medical emergencies, natural disasters, accidents and law-and-order situations.
- Assisting with crowd management and traffic regulation during Institute events, VIP visits and other special occasions.
- Maintaining security logs, incident reports, visitor records and other relevant documentation.
- Operating security equipment, communication devices and other systems provided by IISc.
- Performing other security-related duties assigned by the Security Officer or competent authority.
- Working on a shift basis, including night shifts, as assigned.
Contract Duration
The Junior Security Assistant engagement is purely temporary and contractual. The initial contract period is one year.
The contract may be renewed annually for a maximum duration of five years, depending on satisfactory performance and the requirements of IISc.
The contract tenure will begin from the date of joining. For candidates previously employed at IISc through appointments made by the HR Department, the previous service period will be counted towards the maximum permissible five-year tenure.
An annual increment of up to 10% may be permitted, with a maximum of four such revisions, subject to the recommendation of the committee and approval by the Competent Authority.

Reservation and Category Certificates

For EWS reservation, the notification specifies that the candidate must possess an Income & Asset Certificate valid for the year 2026-2027, issued on the basis of income for the financial year 2025-2026 in accordance with Government of India norms.
