HPPSC Medical Officer Age Limit 2026
The age of candidates will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.

Upper age relaxation will be applicable for eligible categories according to Himachal Pradesh Government rules. Five years relaxation is admissible to eligible bonafide SC/ST/OBC/WFF/PwD candidates of Himachal Pradesh as per the notification.
HPPSC Medical Officer Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Medical Officer post must possess the prescribed medical qualification mentioned in the HPPSC notification.
- A recognized Medical Qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Candidates possessing qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule must fulfil the conditions mentioned under Section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Completion of compulsory rotating internship is required.
Desirable Qualification
- Post Graduate Degree or Diploma included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Post Graduate qualification from a recognized institution.
- Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the conditions prevailing in the state.

Personality Test
The Personality Test carries 30 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General category candidates and 30% for reserved category candidates.
Negative Marking in HPPSC Screening Test
- Negative marking is applicable in objective-type screening tests.
- For every wrong answer, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
- Multiple answers marked for a question will also be treated as incorrect.
