The revised pay scale is based on the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix. The notification also states that the New Defined Contributory Pension Scheme implemented through the Government of India, Ministry of Finance OM dated 07 January 2004 will apply to selected candidates.
Who Can Apply for CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment?
The recruitment is specifically intended for meritorious sportspersons. Candidates must satisfy the educational qualification, age, sports achievement and physical standards prescribed for the respective post.
Head Constable (GD) - Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for Head Constable (GD) must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board/University recognized by the Central or State Government. Equivalent Army qualification is accepted in the case of Ex-Army personnel.
Candidates who do not possess the prescribed educational qualification as on 11 November 2026 are not eligible.
Constable (GD) - Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for Constable (GD) must have passed Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board.

CRPF Sports Quota Age Limit 2026
The prescribed age for both Head Constable (GD) and Constable (GD) is 18 to 23 years as on 1 August 2026, subject to the applicable age relaxations under the recruitment rules.
The eligibility table in the advertisement states that candidates for the basic age limit should not have been born earlier than 2 August 2003 and later than 1 August 2008.
The advertisement's separate upper-age-relaxation section contains a different date range while describing the same 1 August 2026 cut-off. Candidates should therefore carefully follow the final age calculation and applicable provisions in the official CRPF recruitment portal/notification before applying.

Head Constable (GD) Sports Qualification
- Sportspersons who represented India in recognized International Competitions/Meets with clearance of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- Sportspersons who represented a State/UT in National Games or Championships organized by recognized National Sports Federations or National Games organized by the Indian Olympic Association and secured medals or positions up to third place.
- Sportspersons who secured first or second position in individual events in Inter-University Tournaments. For team events, the team must have reached the finals in competitions conducted by the Association of Indian Universities/Inter University Sports Board.

Order of Preference in Sports Quota Recruitment
- Candidates who represented India in an International Competition with clearance of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Weight must be proportionate to height and age according to the applicable medical standards.
Candidates claiming height or chest relaxation must produce the prescribed certificate from the competent authority at the time of the Physical Standard Test. Candidates declared unsuccessful in the PST for height or chest may appeal on the same day. The decision of the appellate authority will be final.
CRPF Medical Standards
Shortlisted candidates will undergo medical examination by CRPF Medical Boards to assess their physical and medical fitness according to the applicable CAPF recruitment medical guidelines.
- Minimum distance vision must be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction, meaning without spectacles or contact lenses.
- Colour-blind candidates are not eligible.
- Candidates must not have knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins or squint in the eyes.
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed medical fitness requirements and should not have a condition or physical defect likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties.
- Tattoo provisions apply to content, location and size as specified in the notification.
For tattoos, religious symbols/figures and names are permitted subject to the conditions specified in the notification. Tattoos are permitted on traditional locations such as the inner aspect of the left forearm or dorsum of the hands, and the size must be less than one-fourth of the relevant body part.

The selection process includes identity verification, document verification, Physical Standard Test, Sports Trial Test and medical examination. Candidates whose applications are found in order will receive online admit cards for the recruitment stages.

1. Identity Verification
Before documentation, candidates undergo identity verification including biometric capture. Biometric identification may also be conducted at other stages of recruitment.
2. Document Verification
Candidates must produce original documents relating to age, education, caste, sports achievement and applicable age or height relaxation. The Recruitment Board will verify the original documents and may verify the genuineness of certificates.
Candidates whose documents are found in order will submit self-attested copies. The originals will be returned after verification.
3. Physical Standard Test
Candidates who qualify the documentation stage will undergo the Physical Standard Test according to the prescribed height and chest standards.
4. Sports Trial Test
Candidates qualifying the PST will participate in the Sports Trial Test for their respective sports discipline. The trial is conducted by the Board of Officers.
Candidates who fail the Sports Trial Test will not be considered for recruitment. No marks are awarded for the Sports Trial Test. The sports certificate/achievement marks determine the merit position.
Candidates appearing for the trial may be subjected to a Dope Test on the day of the trial. Videography and photography will be conducted during the Sports Trial Test. Requests for re-conduct of the Sports Trial Test will not be entertained.
5. Merit List
The merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained for sports certificates/achievements in the advertised sports discipline.
If a tie remains, the notification provides for comparison of the candidates' achievements, including National-level achievement where applicable, followed by age and alphabetical order in English as specified.
6. Detailed Medical Examination
Candidates selected in order of merit according to the number of vacancies will undergo Detailed Medical Examination (DME) to assess their fitness under the applicable Ministry of Home Affairs medical guidelines.
7. Review Medical Examination
Candidates declared medically unfit in the DME may undergo Review Medical Examination, provided they give written consent in the prescribed format. The consent must be submitted within 24 hours after being informed of the unfitness in DME.
The RME is preferably conducted on the next day of the DME.

Candidates appearing for recruitment should be prepared with the original documents required for verification, including:

Travelling Allowance and Stay During Recruitment
No travelling allowance, lodging or boarding will be provided for appearing in the recruitment test. Candidates are advised to make their own arrangements and be prepared for a stay of at least one week at the recruitment venue.
Important Service Conditions for Selected Sportspersons
The selected candidates will be governed by the CRPF Act, 1949 and CRPF Rules, 1955. The posts carry All India liability and selected candidates may be required to serve anywhere in India or abroad.
Selected sportspersons are required to execute an undertaking/bond to serve the Force for a minimum period of three years. The notification specifies a bond amount of ₹1,00,000 in the circumstances described in the prescribed bond.
The sports performance of personnel appointed against the Sports Quota will be monitored for at least two years. They are required to participate in tournaments, games and meets in their appointed sports discipline. The notification states that services may be terminated if the required sports standard is not maintained during this period.
Sports personnel selected under the Sports Quota may also be assigned to a general duty battalion for combat duties anywhere in India in the circumstances specified in the notification
