A total of 139 apprenticeship training seats have been announced, including 61 Graduate Apprentice seats and 78 Technician (Diploma) Apprentice seats. The apprenticeship training period will be one year.
Only candidates who are domiciled in Kerala and have passed the prescribed Degree or Diploma qualification during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible to apply.
Online registration starts on 12 August 2026 and the last date to submit the application through the NATS portal is 01 September 2026. There is no application fee.

Cochin Shipyard Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age, domicile, year of passing and previous apprenticeship conditions before applying.
Kerala Domicile Requirement
Only candidates who are domiciled in Kerala will be considered for selection.
Eligible Year of Passing
Candidates should have passed the prescribed Degree or Diploma qualification during any of the following years:
- 2022
- 2023
- 2024
- 2025
- 2026
Cochin Shipyard Graduate Apprentice Qualification 2026
Candidates applying for Graduate Apprentice posts must possess any one of the following qualifications in the relevant discipline:
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University.
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution empowered to grant such Degree by an Act of Parliament.
- Graduate examination of professional bodies recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.
CGPA / Grade Point Conversion
If a University, Institution or Examination Board provides its own formula for conversion of CGPA, OGPA, CPI or other aggregate grade points into percentage, that prescribed conversion method will be accepted.
If no conversion formula is prescribed by the University or Institution, the aggregate grade points will be multiplied by 10 to calculate the percentage of marks.

Engineering Diploma Disciplines
For Technician Apprentice disciplines from Sl. No. 1 to 6, candidates must possess any one of the following:
- Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government.
- Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline granted by a University.
- Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.
Commercial Practice
Candidates applying for Technician Apprentice in Commercial Practice must possess a Diploma in Commercial Practice granted by an institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government.
Equivalent Qualification Requirement
Candidates possessing a qualification claimed as equivalent to one of the prescribed qualifications must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority. Without the required equivalency certificate, candidature will not be considered.

Previous Apprenticeship Training Eligibility

Cochin Shipyard Apprentice Merit List 2026
Shortlisting will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification applicable to the respective discipline.
Tie-Breaking Rule
If more than one candidate secures the same percentage of marks:
- Preference will first be given based on seniority in the year of passing.
- If the year of passing is also the same, preference will be given to the candidate who is older in age based on date of birth.

Shortlisted candidates called for certificate verification must produce their original certificates along with self-attested copies.
