The educational qualification, mandatory professional certifications, work experience and specific skill requirements are different for each of the 48 notified post categories.

Candidates should enter their graduation percentage to the nearest two decimal places in the online application.
- Where CGPA / OGPA is awarded, it should be converted into percentage according to the norms of the concerned University.
- Fractional marks will not be rounded up.
- 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%.
- 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
Can Candidates Apply for More Than One BOI SO Post?
No. The notification states that a candidate can apply for only one post.
If multiple applications are submitted, only the latest valid completed application will be retained. Application fee / intimation charges paid for other registrations will be forfeited.

Horizontal reservation is available for eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in identified posts.

BOI SO Tie-Breaking Rule 2026
If two or more candidates obtain equal combined final marks:
- The candidate obtaining higher marks in the Online Examination will be ranked higher.
- If Online Examination marks are also equal, the candidate older in age will be ranked higher.
If selection is conducted only through Interview, candidates securing equal Interview marks will be ranked according to Date of Birth, with the older candidate placed higher.
