The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Andhra Pradesh, has released Notification No. 2/2026 dated 10 July 2026 for the recruitment of Senior Residents in Broad and Super Specialties under Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals across Andhra Pradesh. A total of 234 vacancies have been announced. Eligible Post Graduate candidates can apply online from 15 July 2026 to 19 July 2026.

AP DME Senior Residents Recruitment 2026 Post-wise Qualification

Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria as per National Medical Commission regulations:

• Postgraduate degree MD/MS in the concerned specialty; OR
• DNB in Broad Specialties granted by a Medical Institution with an attached hospital, or a hospital with a strength of 500 or more beds, granted by the National Board of Examination — eligible as per Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022
• Must be registered with the AP Medical Council
• Senior Residents already working in Government Medical Colleges of AP are not eligible to apply

AP DME Senior Residents Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

• Maximum Age: Must not cross 44 years as on date of notification
• Maximum Age for Pre-clinical and Para-clinical subjects (Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine): 50 years
• Local candidates to AP state are eligible for selection; Non-Local candidates with AP Medical Registration are eligible for Senior Residency only if local candidates are not available
• Local Candidature Note: A candidate must have studied at least 4 years from 4th to 10th standard in AP. In case of study of 4th to 10th in Telangana with migration to AP after bifurcation, a certificate from revenue authorities is required as per G.O.Ms.No.132 & 133 GA (SPF&MC) Dept. dated 13.06.2016

AP DME Senior Residents Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

• Merit list prepared based on marks scored in the Post-graduate examination (including theory and practical)
• Postings as Senior Residents given as per merit, duly following Rule of Reservation (RoR)
• Rule of Reservation as per State and Subordinate Services will be followed
• In case of a tie in marks, the candidate with the earlier Date of Birth (elder person) will be given first preference
• The Selection Committee reserves the right to alter or modify conditions laid down in the notification, including the notified posts, for final selection

AP DME Senior Residents Recruitment 2026 Salary

As per G.O.Ms. No. 723, HM&FW (C1) Department, dated 04.12.2024, selected candidates will receive a remuneration/honorarium of ₹80,500/- per month for Broad Specialties.

AP DME Senior Residents Recruitment 2026 Tenure

• The post of Senior Residents is a tenured position for 1 year only
• Selected candidates are required to compulsorily complete the one-year period

2. Visit the official DME application portal during the application window (15 to 19 July 2026).
3. Fill in personal, educational, and postgraduate qualification details.
4. Upload all required documents (listed below) along with the application.
5. Pay the applicable application fee online based on your category.
6. Submit the application and retain a copy/acknowledgment for future reference.

Important: Applications submitted without the mandatory certificates (SSC certificate, PG registration, PG mark lists, MBBS and PG degree/provisional certificates, and Study Certificate from 4th to 10th Class) will be rejected. Applications without PG mark lists will not be considered.

• Study Certificate from 4th to 10th Class (or revenue authority certificate for Telangana-to-AP migrated candidates, as applicable)
• Social Status Certificate (SC/ST/BCA/BCB/BCC/BCD/BCE/EWS), if applicable
• PH (Person with Disability) Certificate, if applicable
• Aadhar Card

Important Instructions

• Applications will be accepted only through online mode between 15/07/2026 and 19/07/2026.
• No application will be received offline.
• Senior Residents already working in Government Medical Colleges of AP are not eligible to apply, and such applications will not be considered.
• Applications submitted without the mandatory certificates listed at points 8(a)(1) to 8(a)(5) will be rejected.
