UIIC AO Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the prescribed nationality, educational qualification and age requirements as on 30 June 2026. Working knowledge of computers is mandatory.
UIIC AO Nationality 2026
A candidate must be one of the following:
- A citizen of India;
- A subject of Nepal;
- A subject of Bhutan;
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to the applicable eligibility certificate requirements.
UIIC AO Generalist Qualification 2026
Candidates applying for Administrative Officer - Generalist must possess:
- Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognised University; and
- Minimum 60% marks in either of the degree examinations.
For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, the minimum required marks are 55%.
Eligible disciplines include, but are not limited to, Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture and Data Science.
UIIC Hindi Officer Qualification 2026
Candidates applying for Administrative Officer - Hindi Officer must possess any one of the following qualifications from a recognised University with 60% marks, or 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates:
- Master's Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at Degree level;
- Master's Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at Degree level;
- Master's Degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at Degree level;
- Master's Degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at Degree level; or
- Master's Degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects, or either language as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at Degree level.
UIIC AO Educational Qualification Important Conditions
- Qualification must be from a recognised University or Institute approved by UGC / AICTE, as applicable.
- The prescribed educational pattern should be 10+2+3 or equivalent.
- The required qualification must have been completed on or before 30 June 2026.
- Candidates whose final qualifying examination result was declared after 30 June 2026 are not eligible.
- Where CGPA / OGPA / SGPA is awarded, the candidate must produce the applicable University conversion certificate.
- A fraction in percentage will be ignored. For example, 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%.
- Working knowledge of computers is mandatory.

The Generalist Descriptive Test will be conducted online in English for 30 minutes. Descriptive answer scripts will be evaluated only for candidates who qualify the Main Objective Examination as per the cut-off decided by UIIC.

The Hindi Officer Descriptive Test will be conducted online for 60 minutes. Candidates should be familiar with Inscript or Remington (GAIL) keyboard layout for Hindi typing.
UIIC AO Negative Marking 2026
For each wrong answer in the objective Preliminary and Main examinations, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.
UIIC will prescribe section-wise as well as overall cut-off marks.
UIIC AO Interview 2026
Candidates qualifying the Main Examination will be shortlisted for Interview up to three times the number of vacancies in the respective category and discipline.
For final selection, the Online Main Examination and Interview carry a weightage of 75:25.
Final Merit for Generalists
For Generalist candidates, marks obtained in the Main Objective Examination and Interview will be considered in the ratio of 75:25. Preliminary Examination and Descriptive Test marks will not be included in the final merit list.
Final Merit for Hindi Officers
For Hindi Officers, marks obtained in the Tier-II Main Examination comprising Objective and Descriptive Tests and the Interview will be considered in the ratio of 75:25. Preliminary Examination marks will not be included in final merit.
UIIC AO Tie-Breaking Rule 2026
If two or more candidates obtain the same consolidated score, the candidate older in age will be placed higher in the final merit list.

UIIC AO Benefits 2026
In addition to salary and admissible allowances, selected officers will be eligible for benefits as per UIIC rules, including:

UIIC AO Probation Period 2026
Selected candidates who are certified medically fit may be appointed on probation for one year. The probation period may be extended at the discretion of UIIC.
During probation, officers may be required to undergo theoretical and practical training. They are also required to pass the Non-Life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India before being confirmed in service.
UIIC AO Guarantee Bond 2026
Before joining, selected candidates must give an undertaking to serve UIIC for a minimum period of five years including the probation period.
If a candidate resigns before completing the bond period, liquidated damages equivalent to the actual gross salary paid, subject to a maximum of one year's gross salary, may be payable. An additional amount of Rs. 35,000 towards onboarding and integration cost is also prescribed.
For candidates resigning after completing one year but before completing five years, the liquidated damages will be reduced proportionately depending on the length of service.
UIIC AO Posting and Transfer 2026
The vacancies are substantially in the Western and Southern Zones of India, and selected candidates are likely to be posted mostly in these zones.
The initial posting period will generally be for a minimum of five years, and requests for transfer to a place of choice will not be entertained during this period.
