WBBPE Assistant Teachers Notification 2025 : Age Limits (As On 01 July 2025)
- Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
- Maximum Age limit: 40 Years
- Age relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (A & B), PwD (Person with Disabilities), Exempted (EC), Ex-Servicemen (ExS) and Para Teacher (PT) categories.

Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must have passed: Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and Two Year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) (conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education adhering to the rules and principles set by NCTE)

- Scale of Pay: As per extant rules of the Government of West Bengal in this regard.

Mode Of Selection
- Selection of Assistant Teachers shall be made on the basis of aggregated marks obtained in the following items of evaluation out of maximum marks of 50:
- Madhyamik/ equivalent examination: 05 Marks
- Higher Secondary/ equivalent examination: 10 Marks
- Training as specified by NCTE: 15 Marks
- Teacher Eligibility Test (TET): 05 Marks
- Extra-Curricular Activities: 05 Marks
- Viva-Voce/ Interview: 05 Marks
- Aptitude Test/ Teaching experience in case of Para-Teacher: 05 Marks
