MCL Assistant Foreman Electrical Technician Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 500 Posts

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has released an employment notice inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the posts of Asst. Foreman (Electrical) (Trainee), T&S Gr-C (E&M) and Technician (Electrician) (Trainee), Cat-III (E&M). Candidates must apply through online mode only.

The online application process will start from 07 May 2026 at 10:00 AM and the last date to submit the online application is 28 May 2026 up to 11:50 PM. The Computer Based Test date, admit card date, and result date will be announced later on the official MCL website.

Educational Qualification

1. Asst. Foreman (Electrical) (Trainee), T&S Gr-C (E&M)

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (minimum 3 years course) approved by AICTE
  • OR Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering approved by AICTE

2. Technician (Electrician) (Trainee), Cat-III (E&M)

  • Matriculate or equivalent examination passed from any recognized Board
  • ITI (2 year course) in Electrician Trade along with Trade certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT
  • Minimum 1 year training / on the job practical experience
  • LT permit under IE rules for Mines or 440-550 Volts mining parts permit issued by Competent Authority

Important: The actual upper age limit of the applicant, except departmental candidates, shall not exceed 56 years on the crucial date.

Reservation Rules

  • Reservation for SC / ST / OBC (NCL) Central List / EWS / PwBD / ESM will be applicable as per Government of India rules.
  • Reserved category candidates must possess valid supporting certificates as on 28/05/2026.
  • OBC (NCL) reservation is applicable only for candidates belonging to the Central List and not falling under creamy layer.
  • SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD/EWS candidates selected on their own merit without relaxed standards will be adjusted against UR vacancies.
  • Candidates qualifying through relaxed standards will be counted against reserved vacancies.

Selection Process

  • Computer Based Test (CBT) only
  • No personal interview will be held
  • Document Verification for shortlisted candidates

Eligible candidates will be provisionally called for CBT based on their declaration regarding age, qualification, technical qualification, and valid statutory certificates. Verification will be done after declaration of CBT results for shortlisted candidates.

CBT Exam Pattern

  • The CBT will consist of objective type multiple-choice questions.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • The paper will be bilingual: English and Hindi.

Shortlisting for Document Verification

  • Shortlisted qualified candidates will be called for document verification in the ratio of 1:3 based on CBT merit.
  • In case of a tie, the older candidate will be ranked higher, followed by alphabetical order of name.
  • Shortlisted candidates must appear with all original certificates/documents and photocopies.
  • Candidates employed in Govt./Semi Govt./PSUs/CIL/Subsidiaries must produce a No Objection Certificate.

Medical Fitness

Appointment will be provisional subject to being found medically fit as per company standards. Selected candidates must undergo Initial Medical Examination (IME) in a designated hospital by the Company’s Doctor before final appointment/joining.

Candidates found medically unfit will be disqualified from employment. For the post of Asst. Foreman (Electrical), the minimum required height is 60 inches, except in case of Dwarfism.

Career Growth

  • For Asst. Foreman (Electrical), further career growth from T&S Gr-C to T&S Gr-B and onwards will depend on acquisition of Electrical Supervisorship Certificate of Competency valid for Mines as per cadre scheme.
  • For Technician (Electrician), trainees in Cat-III will be regularized as Electrician, Cat-IV after successful completion of one year training in E&M cadre and possession of valid minimum requisite Electrician statutory permit/certificate.

Application Fee: ₹1000 + applicable GST ₹180 = ₹1180 (Non-Refundable)

  • Applicable for General (UR) / OBC / EWS candidates
  • Fee must be paid online only through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking
  • SC / ST / PwBD / ESM / Female candidates / Employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries are exempted from application fee
  • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances
