GMCH Chandigarh Recruitment 2026 Eligibility
For Senior Resident, Resident Anaesthetist, Resident Pathologist and CMO posts, candidates must possess the required postgraduate medical qualification in the concerned specialty and valid registration with the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.
For Demonstrator, Medical Officer, Emergency Medical Officer and Lady Medical Officer posts, MBBS is required. Candidates with M.Sc. (Medical) in the concerned specialty may be considered for Demonstrator posts only when medical candidates are not available, subject to the conditions specified in the advertisement.
For Junior Resident posts, candidates must possess MBBS/BDS and registration with the State Medical Council/MCI. Candidates who have completed or are likely to complete one year of compulsory rotary internship by 31 December 2026 are eligible to apply.

GMCH Chandigarh Recruitment 2026 Tenure
The tenure of Senior Residents, Resident Anaesthetists, Resident Pathologists and CMO posts is a maximum of 3 years, including previous experience in a teaching institution, subject to satisfactory work and conduct.
The tenure of Demonstrators, Medical Officers, Lady Medical Officers and Emergency Medical Officers is also a maximum of 3 years, including previous experience.
The tenure of Junior Residents (MBBS & BDS) is a maximum of 1 year, including previous experience. The tenure for Junior Resident posts will commence from 01 January 2027.

GMCH Chandigarh Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process consists of a written test followed by an interview. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of the written test, and shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
Candidates with postgraduate qualifications who are eligible for multiple departments can select multiple departments while applying. Such candidates will appear in one test related to their postgraduate qualification, and the merit obtained will be considered for all departments selected by them.
