DRDO DIAT Notification 2025 : Age Limits (As On 01 July 2025)

• Maximum Age: 35 years as on 27 Jan 2026.
• Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Disabled & Women; 3 years for OBC Non-Creamy Layer.

Eligibility Criteria

• Ph.D. degree holders within three years of the award of the Ph.D. degree, or those who have submitted a Ph.D. thesis.
• Applicants about to submit their thesis are also eligible, subject to submission before award expiry.
• Research publications in high-impact-factor SCI journals.
• Open to Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and up to 20 foreign nationals.

Salary

• Fellowship: Rs. 55,000/- per month for awardees.
• Rs. 35,000/- per month for candidates with thesis submitted but not yet awarded.
• Research Grant: Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum.
• Overheads: Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum.

Mode Of Selection

• Candidates may apply at any time, selection twice a year (June & December).
• Shortlisting based on applications received two months prior to interview.
• Selection based on presentation of research proposal and interview by committee.
• Foreign nationals can be considered in absentia.
• Selection for foreign nationals subject to clearance by DIAT/DRDO HQ.

• Download and fill application form from DIAT website www.diat.ac.in.
• Attach CV, publications, research plan, Ph.D./provisional certificate, and any relevant documents.
• Send filled application in a sealed envelope titled "Application for Admission to Post Doctoral Programme in the Department/School of ______" to Joint Registrar (Academics), DIAT, Girinagar, Pune 411025.
• Application should reach DIAT on or before January 27, 2026.

Important Instructions

• Selected candidates should join within 2 months of appointment.
• Must undertake full-time research at DIAT.
• Annual progress evaluation for fellowship extension.
• DIAT alumni not eligible for PDF at DIAT under this scheme.
• Acknowledge DIAT support in all publications, patents, reports.
• Assist department with PG/PhD student support and labs/conference duties.
• Accommodation provided if available; medical benefits as per DIAT rules.
