Union Bank of India has released the official notification for the recruitment of 1865 Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act 1961 as amended from time to time. Note: The number of training seats mentioned above is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank. Reservation guidelines as laid down by Government of India for SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc. will be followed.

Educational Qualification (as on 01.04.2026): Graduate degree in any discipline from any Institute/College/University recognized/approved by Govt. bodies (AICTE/UGC). The date of passing Graduation should not be more than 4 years viz. date of Graduation Marksheet should not be prior to 01.04.2022.

Age Limit (as on 01.04.2026): Minimum 20 years and Maximum 28 years.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-creamy layer): 3 years
  • PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years
  • PwBD (OBC): 13 years
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
  • Widows/Divorced women: Up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC/ST)

Selection Procedure

  1. Online Examination (Objective Type): The selection will be based on Online Test consisting of 100 questions carrying 100 marks with 60 minutes duration. There is no negative marking.
  2. Examination Pattern:

  3. Proficiency Test of Local Language: Selected candidates will have to produce their 10th/12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied the opted local language. In ability to produce certificate will require to give a test of local language.
  4. Document Verification: Final selection will be subject to satisfactory verification of documents related to DOB/Category/Educational Qualification.
  5. Medical Fitness: Submission of Medically fit Certificate from a practicing registered General Physician.
  6. Wait List: Wait List of candidates may be declared at the discretion of the Bank.

  2. Register on NAPS portal by clicking https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and obtain NAPS Apprentice Code Number
  3. Register on NATS portal by clicking https://nats.education.gov.in/student/type.php and obtain NATS Enrolment Number
  4. Keep the following documents ready before applying:
    • Aadhaar card (front & back side) - JPEG, Less than 1 MB
    • Passport size photograph - JPEG, Less than 1 MB
    • Qualifying Marksheet/Degree/Provisional Certificate - PDF, Less than 1 MB
    • Caste Certificate (if applicable) - PDF, Less than 1 MB
    • PwBD Certificate (if applicable) - PDF, Less than 1 MB

  6. Provide complete personal and educational information
  7. Upload all relevant documents (Caste certificate, PwBD certificate, etc., as applicable)
  8. Provide NAPS Apprentices Code Number and NATS Enrolment Number
  9. Select preferred state and five districts (home district should be first preference)
  10. Opt for ONE specified local language of the selected state
  11. Submit the Application Online
  12. Pay the applicable examination fee through Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/UPI
  13. On successful completion of transaction, an e-receipt will be sent to registered email ID
  14. Take a printout of system generated online application form for future reference
  15. Note down the Registration Number for tracking

Other Important Information

  • Duration of Training: One year from the date of contract
  • Training Type: On-the-Job Training on various aspects of banking practices, products and processes
  • Not Employment: This is NOT an employment in the Bank. It is on-job training to gain experience. The Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment after completion of apprenticeship
  • Holidays & Leave: Apprentice shall be entitled to holidays as observed in the Bank. One casual leave on completion of one month. Maximum 4 casual leaves at a time
  • Working Hours: Daily hours of training will be as applicable to clerical staff of the Bank. No overtime allowed
  • Previous Apprenticeship: Candidates should NOT have undergone Apprenticeship either in Union Bank or any other organization earlier
  • Job Experience: Candidates who had job experience for a period of one year or more after educational qualification shall NOT be eligible
  • Local Language Proficiency: Candidate applying for vacancies of a particular state should be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding in any one of the local languages of that state
  • District Preference: Candidates may give preferences of five districts where home district should be first preference. However, allotment will be based on need of Bank
  • No Transport/Hostel: The Bank will not provide any Transport/Hostel facility or residential accommodation
  • PF/ESI/Bonus Not Applicable: Provisions of any law with respect to Labour such as PF, ESI, Bonus shall NOT be applicable
  • Union Body Prohibited: Apprentices are prohibited from joining/forming any Union Body
  • Assessment & Certification: After completion of training, apprentices will go through an assessment test. Certificate will be awarded to those who pass
  • Termination: Contract can be terminated by Bank or Apprentice through Apprenticeship Advisor stating reasons
  • Multiple Applications: Not more than one application should be submitted. In case of multiple applications, only the last valid completed application will be retained
  • Aadhaar Mandatory: All candidates should produce Aadhaar number before engagement
  • Online Examination Mode: All candidates will give online examination using their own camera enabled desktop/laptop/tablet/smartphone
  • Jurisdiction: Any legal proceedings can be instituted only in Mumbai and courts/tribunals/forums at Mumbai only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction
