Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed 10th class examination under 10+2 system of education or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks
- Must have passed ITI Course in relevant trade from a Recognized Institution
- Candidates should have already passed the prescribed qualification on the date of issue of notification (05.05.2026)
- Candidates appearing in qualifying examination and candidates whose result is awaited are NOT eligible

Stipend: Selected candidates will be paid stipend during their training as per the rules of Railway Board.
Selection Procedure
- Merit List Preparation: Merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification
- Medical Examination: Selected candidates may be advised to bring medical certificate at the time of document verification in prescribed format as per Apprenticeship Act 1961. Medical certificate should be signed by Government authorized Doctor (GAZ), not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central/State Hospital
- Contract Signing: Selected candidates or their guardian (if minor) has to enter into a contract of apprenticeship with the employer
- Training Duration: Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 1 year for each trade
- Training Termination: Training will be terminated after completion of apprenticeship period
Note: It is NOT obligatory on the part of employer to offer any employment to any apprentice after completion of training, nor shall it be obligatory for the apprentices to accept any employment if offered.

Other Important Information
- Training Period: 1 year apprenticeship training for each trade with stipend payment as per Railway Board rules
- No Employment Guarantee: This is apprenticeship training under Apprentices Act-1961. It is not obligatory for employer to offer employment after training completion
- Caste Certificate Requirement: SC/ST candidates must produce caste certificate on Central Government format (Annexure-B). OBC candidates must produce caste certificate AND Non-Creamy Layer certificate on Central Government format (Annexure-C)
- OBC Certificate Validity: OBC certificate should not be older than one year from the date of closure of notification
- PwBD Certificate: Persons with Disability must produce certificate showing not less than 40% disability issued by Medical Board constituted by Central or State Government
- EWS Reservation: Unfilled seats under EWS category may be filled as per SECR HQ clarification dated 13.02.2024
- Ex-Servicemen Reservation: 10% reservation provided for Ex-Servicemen and their children/dependents as per categories mentioned in notification
- Age Relaxation: Subject to submission of recent caste certificate issued by competent authority
- Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must be medically fit as per Railway Establishment Rule 201/2017
- Document Verification: Original documents must be produced at the time of verification. Failure to produce or discrepancy will result in cancellation of candidature
- False Information: If Railway Administration notices that applicant has furnished wrong/fake/false certificates, they reserve the right to discharge candidate at any stage without notice even after selection
- Canvassing Disqualification: Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidates
- No Travel Allowance: No Travelling Allowance or Daily Allowance shall be paid to candidates for document verification/joining
- Final Decision: Decision of Railway Administration in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance/rejection of applications and mode of selection shall be final
