Punjab National Bank (PNB) has released the official notification for the recruitment of 30 Specialist Officers in JMG Scale I. The recruitment includes posts for Officer – Civil Engineer, Officer – Electrical Engineer, and Officer - Mechanical Engineer.

The online registration process starts on 21 April 2026 and the last date to apply online is 05 May 2026. The tentative date of the online test, wherever required, is 27 May 2026. Candidates willing to serve anywhere in India can apply through the official PNB website.

PNB Specialist Officer Vacancy 2026 Details

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A subject of Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or
• A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualification

Officer – Civil Engineer

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with 60% marks.

Officer – Electrical Engineer

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university with 60% marks.

Officer – Mechanical Engineer

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university with 60% marks.

Post Qualification Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in the relevant field is mandatory for all three posts.
• Relevant experience should be in construction, renovation, retrofitting, interior furnishing, maintenance works of commercial/residential/institutional/industrial/administrative buildings, or related engineering works.

Indicative Job Roles

• Planning and preparation of estimates
• Execution of construction, renovation, and interior works of bank buildings
• Maintenance of bank buildings and equipment
• Procurement of goods, works, and services
• Empanelment of architects, contractors, and agencies
• Site supervision and quality control
• Scrutiny and payment of bills
• Reporting to CTE/CVC
• Implementation of green initiatives and energy-saving measures
• Any other work assigned by the bank

Salary and Benefits

In addition to the basic pay applicable to JMG Scale I, selected candidates will be entitled to DA, CCA, HRA / leased accommodation, leave fare concession, medical insurance, retirement benefits, and other perquisites as per bank rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on either of the following, depending on the number of applications received:

• Online Written Test followed by Personal Interview
• OR Personal Interview only

Scenario 1: Online Written Test + Interview

• Candidates will first appear in the online written examination.
• Shortlisting for interview will be based on merit in Part II – Professional Knowledge, subject to qualifying in Part I.
• Interview will carry 50 marks.
• Final selection will be based on aggregate marks of Professional Knowledge and Interview.

Scenario 2: Interview Only

• If the bank decides not to conduct the online test, shortlisting will be done based on applications and eligibility.
• Interview will carry 50 marks.
• Final selection will be based on interview merit.

Online Test Pattern

Negative Marking

For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

Interview

• Personal Interview will be of 50 marks.
• Minimum qualifying marks in interview will be decided by the bank.

Examination Centres

The online examination may be conducted at multiple centres across India including Delhi/NCR, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Gurugram, Chandigarh region cities, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane/MMR, Pune, Patna, Lucknow, Jaipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kochi, Dehradun, and others as listed in the notification.
