ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL) has released an official notification for the engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. OPaL is a subsidiary company of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) and is also co-promoted by GAIL (India) Limited and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited.

Stipend

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must possess the essential qualification in the same trade, discipline or degree for which they are applying.
• Trade certificate must be from recognized ITIs / Technical Institutions approved by SBTE / GCVT / NCVT.
• Graduate qualifications must be recognized by relevant statutory bodies such as UGC / AICTE.
• Qualifications acquired through distance learning, part-time mode or correspondence mode will not be considered.
• The essential qualification must have been acquired in 2022 or later.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 24 Years
• Age will be calculated as on 15.05.2026.
• Candidate’s date of birth should be between 15.05.2002 and 15.05.2008.

Age Relaxation

• SC / ST Candidates: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• PwBD Candidates: 10 years
• PwBD SC / ST Candidates: 15 years
• PwBD OBC Candidates: 13 years

Who Cannot Apply?

• Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training are not eligible.
• Candidates currently pursuing apprenticeship training are not eligible.
• Candidates having training or job experience of one year or more after acquiring the prescribed qualification are not eligible.

Domicile / Eligible District Condition

A candidate can apply for a particular work centre only if he or she is a resident of the corresponding state/district or has obtained the required qualification from the eligible district against that OPaL centre.

Selection Process

• Selection will be based on merit drawn from marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
• In case of same merit marks, the older candidate will be considered.
• Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD candidates will be applicable as per government guidelines.
• Selected candidates will be informed through their registered email ID.
• Medical fitness certificate will be required before joining apprenticeship training.

2. For NAPS trades from Sr. No. 1 to 4, apply through apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
3. For NATS trades from Sr. No. 5 to 12, register and apply through nats.education.gov.in.

Important Instructions

• Candidates should apply in only one trade / discipline / degree.
• If a candidate applies for more than one work location or trade, OPaL may allocate only one centre/location and trade at its discretion.
• Hard copy applications sent by post or courier will not be accepted.
• Selected apprentices must have Aadhaar-linked bank account in their own name and PAN card to receive stipend.
• For Electrician trade, Wireman trade certificate will not be accepted.
• OPaL has no obligation to offer regular employment after completion of apprenticeship.
