NLC India Apprentice Eligibility 2026
Trade Apprentice
Candidates must have passed ITI in the relevant trade from a recognised institute.
Graduate (Non-Engineering) Apprentice
Candidates must possess a regular full-time Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a UGC-approved university.
The prescribed qualifications and eligibility conditions are specified in the notification under the Minimum Educational Qualifications section.
NLC India Apprentice Age Limit 2026
Candidates must have completed 18 years of age on or before 31 October 2026, as prescribed under Section 3(a) of the Apprentices Act, 1961.
For Graduate (Non-Engineering) Apprentices, candidates must have passed the qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026. This year-of-passing condition is not applicable to ITI candidates.

The apprenticeship training duration is 12 months for both Trade and Graduate (Non-Engineering) Apprentices.
NLC India Apprentice Selection Process 2026
Selection of Trade Apprentices will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying ITI examination.
For Graduate (Non-Engineering) Apprentices, selection will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the Bachelor's Degree final qualifying examination. Where Grades or CGPA are awarded, the percentage will be calculated according to the conversion procedure followed by the concerned University or Institution.
If the University or Institution does not have an established conversion procedure, the notification specifies the applicable method for calculating equivalent percentage from CGPA, semester-wise marks or year-wise marks.
If two or more candidates secure the same percentage of marks at the cut-off level, preference will be given to the older candidate based on the date of birth.
NLC India Apprentice Eligibility Conditions
- Candidates must have completed 18 years of age by 31 October 2026.
- Graduate candidates must have passed the qualifying examination during 2022 to 2026.
- The year-of-passing condition does not apply to ITI candidates.
- Candidates must not have previously undergone or currently be undergoing NAPS/NATS or PM Interns Scheme at NLC India Limited or elsewhere.
- Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD candidates will be provided as per the Apprentices Act.
- Candidates claiming reservation must submit the required certificates in the prescribed Government format.
- OBC-NCL candidates must submit a valid OBC-NCL certificate in the prescribed format, valid from 1 April 2026.
The notification also states that completion of apprenticeship training at NLC India Limited does not confer any right to temporary or permanent employment in NLC India Limited.
