NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for Various Graduate, Diploma and ITI Apprentice Posts
NHPC Limited, a Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has released the official notification for engagement of apprentices for one year training at various NHPC units across India. The recruitment includes Graduate Apprentice, Diploma Apprentice, and ITI Apprentice trades in multiple disciplines.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official NHPC website after registration on the NATS or NAPS portal, as applicable. The online application process starts on 15 April 2026 and the last date to apply is 06 May 2026 up to 05:00 PM. NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 DBT Benefit
A Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) amount of Rs. 4,000/- for Diploma Apprentices and Rs. 4,500/- for Graduate Apprentices will be provided by the Government of India under the NATS scheme. The stipend mentioned above is inclusive of the DBT amount wherever applicable. Candidates must have an active Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled bank account.
NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification and be medically fit as per the Apprentice Act, 1961.
- Candidates awaiting the result of the qualifying examination are not eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training of 1 year or more are not eligible.
- Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Age relaxation for reserved categories will be applicable as per Government guidelines.
NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Reservation
Reservation will be followed as per the Apprentice Act, 1961. Candidates claiming reservation must submit the required certificate in the prescribed Government format issued by the competent authority.
NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Training Duration
The duration of apprenticeship training will be 1 year. It may be extended up to 2 years as per the provisions of the Apprentice Act, 1961 and related rules.
NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Accommodation
Shared bachelor accommodation may be provided at the training location. If accommodation is not provided, an additional payment of Rs. 2,500/- per month will be paid.
NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Working Hours and Leave
Apprentices will follow normal office timings and will be entitled to weekly off and holidays as applicable to NHPC employees.
- Casual Leave: 1 day for every completed month of training, up to a maximum of 12 days in one year
- Medical Leave: 15 days with medical certificate
- Extra Ordinary Leave: 20 days in case casual and medical leave are exhausted
NHPC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
There will be no interview. Selection will be made purely on merit. The merit criteria are as follows:

Preference in Selection
- First preference will be given to candidates belonging to Project Affected Families of the respective Project/Power Station/Unit.
- If sufficient candidates are not available, preference will be given to candidates belonging to the concerned district(s) of the State/UT.
- If vacancies still remain, preference will be given to candidates belonging to the State/UT where the Project/Power Station/Unit is located.
- Remaining vacancies will be filled on merit from candidates belonging to other States/UTs.

- For Graduate/Degree/Diploma trades, register on NATS: https://nats.education.gov.in
- After getting the NAPS/NATS registration or enrolment number, visit www.nhpcindia.com
- Go to Career Section and click on Engagement of Apprentice.
- Fill out the online application form carefully.
- Upload all required documents.
- Submit the application before the last date.
