National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, has released Recruitment Notice No. 05/2026 for recruitment to the post of Deputy Manager (Technical) in E2 Grade.

A total of 85 vacancies are available. Eligible candidates with a Civil Engineering degree and valid GATE score in Civil Engineering from 2024, 2025 or 2026 can apply online. The online application process starts on 09 May 2026 and the last date is 08 June 2026.

Out of 85 posts, 02 posts are horizontally reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
• Candidates must have qualified GATE in Civil Engineering in any one of the years: 2024, 2025 or 2026.
• A valid GATE score is required for selection.

Nationality

• Candidate must be an Indian citizen, or
• A subject of Nepal / Bhutan.

Age Limit

• Upper Age Limit: Not exceeding 34 years
• The crucial date for age calculation is the closing date of online application.

Salary and Benefits

The selected candidates will be appointed in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 50,000 – 3% – 1,60,000. In addition to pay, allowances and other perks will be provided as per NHIDCL rules.

Job Responsibilities

• Planning, designing and execution of civil engineering projects.
• Monitoring National Highways, strategic roads, bridges, tunnels and infrastructure projects.
• Ensuring compliance with government policies and standards.
• Handling any other work assigned by the competent authority.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on the best GATE score in Civil Engineering obtained in any of the years 2024, 2025 or 2026.

• Candidates must enter their best GATE score in the online application form.
• If two or more candidates have equal GATE scores, the older candidate will be selected first.
• If date of birth is also the same, selection will be made in alphabetical order of first name as shown in the Class 10 certificate.

Placement

Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India or outside India. NHIDCL currently operates through 14 Regional Offices and its corporate headquarters is located in New Delhi.

State Groups for Posting

State Group allocation will be done on the basis of merit-cum-choice through counselling.

Medical Fitness

Selected candidates must pass a medical test and obtain a medical fitness certificate from a Medical Board of a State / Central Government Hospital before the offer of appointment is issued or before joining NHIDCL.

Probation

• Selected candidates will undergo 2 years probation.
• Probation may be extended up to a maximum of 2 years, one year at a time.
• Probationers may be required to complete mandatory training for confirmation.

Service Bond

Selected candidates, before joining, must furnish a non-transferable service bond of Rs. 5 lakh valid for 2 years on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 100.
