Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board.
- Candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma Course from an AICTE recognized Polytechnic Institute with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
- Eligible diploma streams include Marine Engineering & Systems, Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics and Electronics Instrumentation & Control Engineering.

Marital Status
- Only unmarried Indian male candidates are eligible.
- Candidates must submit an undertaking of being unmarried at the time of enrolment.
- Marriage is not permitted during the 4-year engagement period.

Seva Nidhi Package
- Agniveers will receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package after completion of 4 years.
- Total contribution in corpus fund by candidate and Government will be around Rs. 12.04 Lakh.
- No gratuity or pension benefits will be applicable.
Insurance & Benefits
- Life Insurance Cover: Rs. 48 Lakh during service period.
- Death Compensation: One-time ex-gratia of Rs. 44 Lakh (service attributable cases).
- Disability Compensation: Rs. 44 Lakh / Rs. 25 Lakh / Rs. 15 Lakh based on disability percentage.
- Leave: 30 days annual leave along with medical leave as applicable.
