Navik (General Duty) recruitment for male candidates is conducted on a zone-wise basis. Recruitment for Navik (GD) female, Yantrik, Navik (Domestic Branch) and Hygienist is on an All India basis. The vacancies are tentative and may change.
Indian Coast Guard CGEPT Eligibility 2026
Navik (General Duty)
Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
Navik (Domestic Branch)
Candidates must have passed Class 10th from an education board recognized by COBSE.
Hygienist
Candidates must have Matriculation OR Industrial Training Institute (ITI) OR equivalent qualification from a Board of Education recognized by the Central/State Government.
Yantrik
Candidates must have passed Class 10th from a COBSE-recognized board and possess a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of 3 or 4 years duration approved by AICTE.
Alternatively, candidates may have passed Class 10th and Class 12th from a COBSE-recognized board along with a 2 or 3-year AICTE-approved diploma in the relevant engineering discipline.

Age relaxation is applicable as follows:
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years

Indian Coast Guard CGEPT Application Fee 2026
Candidates, except those belonging to the SC/ST category who are eligible for fee exemption, are required to pay an examination fee of Rs. 550/-.
The fee can be paid online through Net Banking, Visa/Master/Maestro Debit Card or UPI. The examination fee once paid will not be refunded or kept in reserve for another examination or selection.
Indian Coast Guard CGEPT Selection Process 2026
The selection process consists of multiple stages. Candidates must qualify in Stage-I, Stage-II, Stage-III and Stage-IV, meet the prescribed medical standards and fall within the available vacancies for the respective post and batch.
Stage-I: Computer Based Examination
Stage-I is a Computer Based Examination (CBE) containing 100 objective-type questions. The examination is bilingual in Hindi and English and has a duration of one hour. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Stage-II
Candidates shortlisted for Stage-II undergo the recruitment process at centres specified by the Indian Coast Guard. This stage includes basic identity and biometric verification, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Assessment & Adaptability Test and document verification.

All four PFT tests are conducted continuously without a break.
Stage-III
Candidates who qualify Stage-I and Stage-II and stand in merit according to the available vacancies will be provisionally shortlisted for Stage-III at INS Chilka. Stage-III includes document verification and pre-enrolment medical examination.
Stage-IV
Stage-IV comprises comprehensive verification/authentication of original educational and other documents through the concerned Boards, Universities or State Government authorities. Candidates may be terminated from service if documents are subsequently found not genuine.
