GPSSB Laboratory Technician Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 108 Class-3 Posts

Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB), Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. 04/2026-27 for direct recruitment to the post of Laboratory Technician, Class-3. A total of 108 vacancies are to be filled through online applications on the OJAS portal.

The online application process starts from 17 April 2026 at 1:00 PM and the last date to apply online is 08 May 2026 up to 11:59 PM. General category candidates are also required to pay the application fee online within the same period.

Women Reservation

• General category women: 07 posts
• EWS women: 00 posts
• SEBC women: 06 posts
• SC women: 00 posts
• ST women: 00 posts

Ex-Servicemen Reservation

Out of 108 posts, 03 vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. These vacancies will be adjusted against the respective category such as General, EWS, SC, ST, or SEBC.

PwD Reservation

Out of the total vacancies, 11 posts are reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities. These will be adjusted against the concerned category.

Several districts have zero vacancies, so candidates should carefully check the district-wise breakup before applying.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology from a recognized university or institution.
• Must have passed any one of the following:
  • Diploma in Laboratory Technician
  • Medical Laboratory Technician Course of Medical Technology
  • Medical Laboratory Technology Course
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • One-year Medical Laboratory Technician Training Course
  • Laboratory Technician Training Course
• Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Age Limit

• The candidate should not be more than 36 years of age.
• The age cut-off date will be 08/05/2026.
• Age relaxation for reserved categories, PwD candidates, women, widows, and ex-servicemen will be applicable as per Gujarat Government rules.

Cut-off Date for Qualification and Age

• The required educational qualification and additional qualifications must be possessed on or before 08/05/2026.
• The age calculation will also be considered as on 08/05/2026.

Selection Process

The recruitment examination will be conducted through either:

• CBRT – Computer Based Recruitment Test
• OR OMR based objective examination

The exam will consist of MCQ-type questions. The detailed exam scheme and test program will be published separately by GPSSB on its official website.

Application Fee

• General category candidates must pay ₹100 + service charges through SBI e-Pay.
• No application fee is required for:
  • SC
  • ST
  • SEBC
  • EWS
  • Ex-Servicemen
  • PwD candidates

Fee once paid is non-refundable.

Special Process Fee Option

If a General category candidate submits the online application successfully but is unable to pay the application fee online within time, such candidate may pay a Process Fee of ₹500 in person at the GPSSB office between 11/05/2026 and 13/05/2026 during office hours, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

Women Candidates

• Both male and female candidates can apply.
• If reserved women vacancies remain unfilled, they may be filled by eligible male candidates of the same category.

Widow Candidates

• Widow candidates must mention their widow status in the online form.
• At the time of certificate verification, they must produce an affidavit stating that they have not remarried.
• Eligible widow candidates will get 5% additional marks in the competitive examination, subject to verification.

Ex-Servicemen Age Relaxation

Eligible ex-servicemen candidates will get age relaxation as per Gujarat Panchayat Service rules. However, in no case should the age exceed 45 years.
